I explored a further possibility with local models: Qwen3.6... 35B A3B + NVIDIA LocateAnything-3B as a local Computer Use agent (proof of concept). In the demo, I asked it to switch my Mac to light mode. It did. Then back to dark. Did that too — finding the right toggle in System Settings, clicking it, and verifying the change itself. It's fully screenshot-based, so no Accessibility API needed. If it's on screen, the agent can see it and act on it. This runs entirely on your own hardware — private, local, built from two small open models.show more

Small semi-automated drones are also used as spotters when clearing buildings. The PLA is testing drones of all shapes and sizes for various tasks. I opened it up to do Zoom calls last... week thinking I’d just get a few. 40 people booked calls within the first 24 hours. 🥴 I was worn out. But, one the underlying theme was “Hey I’m looking at this land in NC/TN/GA..is this a good piece?” Let me reiterate…what lurks below those top few inches of soil in ANY mountainous area you buy land or buy a single lot in can be a total nightmare. You have to be very careful with that initial purchase. Anyone who did a Zoom call with me found out the main key steps to go through before you sign a contract, but, let here is a recent example of 1/2 acre lot I built a cabin on recently, in an existing development. The amount of rock we had to bust through almost killed the job. It took over 2 months of non stop hammering to get the lot prepped with my CAT machines. This is why I have a very detailed approach before I even buy a small lot to build on at this point. The cost of excavating/prepping even a small 1/3 acre the lot can run you well north of $100,000 if you’re not careful.show more

Our community in Austin once again proved that distance... means nothing when hearts are close. On Saturday evening a CAT Deputy who also happens... be a Motor Deputy stopped this moped with no plates driving through the snow. The driver works in West Omaha and lives in near Carter Lake. Deputies warned him of the dangers driving his moped on snow packed roads and he agreed but added the moped is his only mode of transportation to work. The driver was given a warning for no proof of ownership and sent on his way home. We all want to make it to work and provide for our families, and it’s hard not to feel for someone who has no other way to get there. While it's not illegal, a two wheeled vehicle on snow-packed roads is very dangerous.show more
