This evening, Metro Fire, Cosumnes Fire, and Sacramento Fire... proudly deployed Strike Team 4801-C to the Palisades Fire in Southern California. 4801-C consists of 22 firefighters staffing five Type 1 engines, and one strike team vehicle. This deployment showcases the strength and resilience of the California Master Mutual Aid Agreement, and highlights the importance of emergency resource sharing statewide. Fire season is now year-round, and the ability to support the mission of saving lives and protecting property throughout our state has never been more critical. Early this morning, CAL FIRE sent 15 fire engines,... one Agency Representative, and one mechanic, totaling 53 personnel to Colorado to help support firefighting efforts on the Aspen Acres Fire burning in Custer and Pueblo Counties. These firefighters are expected to assist in Colorado for up to 14 days. This deployment also marks a first for CAL FIRE, as it is the first time we have sent firefighting resources to Colorado through the National Association of State Foresters State-to-State Partnership. “At 6:00 this morning the Fire Department was alerted... to a report of a fire at 2086 Anthony Avenue. We arrived to find heavy fire in two buildings and very quickly transmitted a 2nd alarm. It eventually became a 3rd alarm, bringing more than 40 fire and EMS units and 150 fire and EMS personnel to the scene. We had fire throughout two buildings, and unfortunately, we did have two fatalities,” said Chief of Department John Esposito. “We did unfortunately have a car parked on the closest fire hydrant. We’ve seen that now a couple of times in the last week throughout the City. We all know that we should not be parking on fire hydrants and when you park on fire hydrants, it slows us down. When we’re fighting a fire, seconds count.” The GNY Red Cross and NYC Emergency Management are on scene to assist displaced residents. FDNY Fire Marshals are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.show more

Palisades Fire: The Fire is 21,596 acres and 11% contained. 100 engines were surged to Mandeville Canyon last night to help work the fire pushing towards to 405. They saw 1,000 acres of growth last night. 5,316 structures have been destroyed. Multiple people arrested last night breaking curfews. 8 fatalities on the Eaton Fire, 3 for the Palisades area. HAPPENING NOW: A vehicle went over the steep cliff... an estimated 400 to 500 feet down just south of Greyhound State Beach in Santa Cruz County, right off of Highway 1. CAL FIRE, Santa Cruz County Fire, San Mateo County Fire, CAL FIRE SCU, Santa Cruz City Fire, CHP-Santa Cruz, CA State Parks with lifeguards and AMR responded. Two CA State Parks Lifeguards swam from Greyhound State Beach down to the pocket beach where the vehicle was located, found one patient, and administered CPR. CAL FIRE SCU Alma Helitack Copter 614 lowered a hoist basket to the beach and pulled the patient to the highway to the awaiting ambulance. The patient is in critical condition. 🚨🚨2-ALARM FIRE Tucson Fire was dispatched to a call... of fire nature unknown at 3:37 this afternoon in the 3100 block of East 22nd Street. Engine 3 arrived six minutes later and reported smoke coming from the back door on and eaves of an abandoned AM/PM. A full alarm was called, and crews started to search for the source of the fire. As seen in this video, there was a significant fire event. The roof collapsed, and operations shifted to a defensive mode. At this time, crews are unable to enter the building to extinguish remaining hot spots, and excavators will be used to tear it down. Firefighters were on the roof when it collapsed, but they were uninjured, as was the individual seen in the video. This video highlights the dangers our crews face every time they battle a fire, and we are thankful that everyone is safe. The fire was caused by homeless activity.show more

🚨 MASSIVE FIRE IN THE HEART OF WASHINGTON: Emergency... crews are responding to a WMATA Metro Bus fire inside the 9th St. tunnel in Downtown Washington, D.C. No customers were on board at the time, and the operator was not injured. The cause of the fire is unknown and DC Fire is working to extinguish the flames. Pinpoint accuracy, what a beautiful drop: The MM115 HWY... 20 Fire outside Mountain Home, Idaho is now just under 5,000 acres. Crews and aviation teamed up bring the fire to 10% containment as of this afternoon. The north side of the fire is looking good, with crews continuing to make progress and strengthen containment efforts. The southern side remains more challenging, with firefighters and incident management worked this morning to identify opportunities to connect existing lines and “put the pieces together” to increase containment.
