this is how how our flying machine takes off... vertically without giant propellers: edfs blow high-speed air directly over a curved surface, the flow hugs the surface and deflects downward, creating vertical lift. COANDA EFFECT!show more

New Chinese hybrid aerial underwater vehicle (HAUV). — Nezha-SeaDart... is a tail-sitting fixed-wing vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) hybrid aerial underwater vehicle. — It can vertically take off and land from ground and water, cruise in the air with lift generated by the wings, and seamlessly cross the air-water boundary.show more

Compressed air is blown at high speed through the... hose, creating a low-pressure zone inside (Bernoulli’s principle). This low pressure sucks the liquid out of the upper container and carries it down into the bottle, a classic Venturi/Bernoulli effect demo.show more

You’ve likely heard of V/STOL (vertical and/or short take-off... and landing) but what about BTOL (backwards take-off and landing)? The F-35 is truly an incredible flying machine and this shows how the US continues to innovate!! Let’s see the Su-57 do that!show more

When a drone applies a force at an angle... to a cart resting on a level surface the force produces a horizontal pull that moves the cart forward and a vertical lift that lightens the load on the wheels, illustrating how vectors separate into independent effects along two perpendicular axes.show more

The most beautiful formula in calculus! Master one of... vector calculus's most profound concepts with this stunning visualization of Stokes' Theorem. This video provides a clear, intuitive animation showing the equality between the line integral of a vector field over a closed loop (boundary circulation) and the surface integral of the curl over the enclosed surface (surface curl). Watch how the circulation around curve C perfectly balances the sum of the infinitesimal rotations within surface S. #calculus #math #stokestheorem #manim #mathematicsshow more

We’ve all seen a double rainbow, but have you... ever seen the sky do this? 🤔 This rare phenomenon happens when sunlight reflects off the water’s surface and then passes through rain droplets in the air. The reflected sunlight acts like a second sun, producing additional rainbow arcs that cross the primary ones—creating this stunning crisscross effect. It’s pure optics, perfect timing, and the ocean acting like a giant mirror ☀️💧 Nature doesn’t repeat itself often… and when it doesn’t, it really shows off.show more

BREAKING: The Iranian Air Defense Force and the IRGC... Aerospace Force have been left without operational surface-to-air missile systems in Tehran. Unable to engage the U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers flying over the Iranian capital, they are using anti-aircraft cannons in an apparent attempt to reassure regime supporters and maintain morale. Anti-aircraft cannon crews are firing hopelessly into the sky over Tehran tonight, with little prospect of reaching the high-flying American bombers. #OperationEpicFuryshow more

LEONARDO, also called LEO, was built by researchers at... Caltech’s Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies. Its full name means LEgs ONboARD drOne. The idea is simple but unusual: • Build a small biped robot • Give it drone-style thrust • Use the legs for ground contact • Use the propellers for balance and lift • Combine walking, hopping and flying in one system LEO is basically a hybrid between a walking robot and a flying drone. How it was built: • Two lightweight legs • Three actuated joints in each leg • Four propeller thrusters near the shoulders • A lightweight body • Leg motors for ground movement • Propellers for balance, lift and aerial control • Real-time control software that synchronizes the legs and propellers How it walks: • The legs move the robot forward • The feet touch the ground like a normal biped • The propellers constantly correct balance from above • The robot can stay upright even in unstable situations • The thrust reduces the risk of falling during difficult motions How it flies: • The legs stop being the main locomotion system • The four propellers generate lift • The robot behaves more like a drone • It can take off, fly over obstacles and land back on its legs What makes it different: • It does not walk like a normal humanoid • It does not fly like a normal drone • It blends both systems • The legs handle contact with the ground • The propellers act like fast stabilizers • The control system decides how much help comes from the legs and how much comes from thrust That is why LEO can: • Walk • Hop • Fly over obstacles • Ride a skateboard • Balance on a slackline The key idea is walking with aerial stabilization.show more

A dramatic moment captures a space rock striking the... Moon’s surface, creating a powerful and sudden impact. The object hits at incredible speed, producing a brief flash and disturbing the lunar surface. With no atmosphere to slow it down, the Moon is constantly exposed to impacts from space rocks, which have shaped its cratered landscape over billions of years. Events like this are happening all the time, but capturing one clearly is rare. This moment gives a glimpse into the dynamic nature of space and how even the Moon continues to change. A brief impact, but a powerful reminder of cosmic activity. #nasa #space #spacexshow more

Robotic deconstruction for lunar expansion Watch as our rover... grinds and recovers material directly from a mock lunar lander. This capability allows us to "upcycle" hardware already on the surface into resources. Mastering this process is a core requirement for near-future lunar exploration, ensuring we can expand our footprint using the assets we already have. The lunar surface is our next worksite.
