This week, the IDF Artillery Corps conducted its first... operational shelling with the new Ro'em self-propelled howitzer, in support of ground forces operating in southern Lebanon. The 282nd Artillery Regiment used the Ro'em, also known as the SIGMA 155, to shell Hezbollah rocket and anti-tank launch sites. The military says the shelling was "deemed successful and yielded achievements." The IDF says the Ro'em brings "groundbreaking capabilities to the battlefield," including increased fire-rate, longer firing ranges, and better mobility than existing howitzers. The Ro'em will enter service gradually through the conversion of artillery battalions that currently operate the aging M109 howitzer.show more

Over the weekend, more than 140 Hezbollah sites in... Lebanon were struck by the Israeli Air Force and by ground troops, the military says. The IDF says the targets included a Hezbollah training camp, weapon depots, rocket launching sites, and command centers of the elite Radwan Force. Earlier, the IDF announced bombing several command centers in Beirut. During ground operations in southern Lebanon, the IDF says, troops killed Hezbollah operatives in close-quarters combat and by directing strikes, as well as captured weapons and located Hezbollah infrastructure. One strike carried out by the 215th Artillery Regiment hit a Hezbollah command center used by the terror group to launch drones at troops and Israel, the IDF adds.show more

More than 20 Hezbollah operatives were killed amid ground... operations in southern Lebanon yesterday, the military says. According to the IDF, the operatives were killed by troops of the 36th Division and in strikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force. In one incident, soldiers of the Golani Brigade identified a cell of Hezbollah operatives attempting to fire anti-tank missiles on the forces. The IDF says the troops killed five operatives in that incident. The military says the ground troops also located numerous weapons, including RPGs and anti-tank missiles. The 36th Division is one of four IDF divisions carrying out ground operations in southern Lebanon since Hezbollah began attacking Israel amid the war in Iran. The IDF has been preparing to deploy even more forces in southern Lebanon and further expand its buffer zone to push away the threat of Hezbollah from the border.show more

The IDF announces that it has deployed a sixth... division to southern Lebanon amid the ongoing ground offensive against Hezbollah. The 98th Division, an elite formation of paratroopers and commando units, in the past week began "targeted ground operations to additional objectives in southern Lebanon," the military says. The IDF also says that troops have "completed their deployment" along the so-called "anti-tank line," several kilometers deep into Lebanon, from which Hezbollah could launch anti-tank guided missiles at Israeli communities. The military says the troops now "continue operating in the area to strengthen the forward defensive line and remove threats to residents of the north." According to the military, five IDF divisions are now involved in the ground offensive against Hezbollah: 146th and 162nd are pushing into the western sector, the 91st and 36th are carrying out raids in the eastern sector. In addition, the IDF's 210th "Bashan" Regional Division is stationed in the Mount Dov area and has conducted several raids on the Lebanese side of the mountain.show more

The military says the division is ready to "receive orders in accordance with the situational assessment." If the 162nd is deployed, it would bring the total number of IDF divisions operating in southern Lebanon to five. The IDF confirms carrying out a drone strike in... southern Lebanon earlier today, saying it killed a Hezbollah operative. The operative who was targeted while driving in the southern Lebanon town of Khirbet Selm was involved in restoring Hezbollah military capabilities in the area, according to the IDF. Separately, the IDF discloses that in a ground operation carried out by reservists of the Alon Brigade in the southern Lebanon town of Yaroun late Thursday, a building used by Hezbollah was demolished. The Israeli military says it has killed more than... 1,400 Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon since hostilities escalated on March 2. They include hundreds of members of the terror group's elite Radwan Force, according to the IDF. Lebanon's health ministry says Israeli attacks have killed over 1,800 people since the war began, including over 300 on Wednesday alone. The IDF says it has also destroyed some 4,300 Hezbollah "terror infrastructures" and seized more than 1,000 weapons during ground operations in southern Lebanon. In the past day, the Israeli Air Force hit 120 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon "to remove threats to the forces," the IDF adds.show more

The IDF says it has killed three Hezbollah operatives... who wounded 10 paratroopers during a gun battle in southern Lebanon's Bint Jbeil overnight. During the night, soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade's 101st Battalion exchanged fire with a cell of three Hezbollah gunmen. The battle left three paratroopers in serious condition, one in moderate condition, and six others were lightly hurt, according to the IDF. The troops returned fire, and along with tank shelling and airstrikes, killed two of the Hezbollah gunmen, the military says. The third Hezbollah operative attempted to flee from the area, and a short while later he was targeted and killed in a strike, the IDF adds.show more

The IDF confirms killing two Hezbollah operatives in separate... drone strikes in Lebanon earlier today. The first strike, near the southern Lebanon town of Naqoura, killed Abd a-Sayed, who the military says served as Hezbollah's local representative in the nearby village of Ras al-Bayada, and as part of his role, he was responsible for liaising between the terror group and the residents "on economic and military matters." The IDF says a-Sayed was also involved in efforts to restore Hezbollah military capabilities in the village. The second strike near the village of Nabi Chit in the eastern Beqaa Valley killed Ali Hussein al-Mousawi, who the IDF says was a weapons smuggler for the terror group. The IDF says that as part of his role, "he handled the purchasing and transfer of weapons from Syria to Lebanon," and he also "played a significant role in the reestablishment and strengthening of Hezbollah." "Throughout the past year, the terrorist has continuously smuggled weapons for Hezbollah," the military says.show more
