With Delije away games feels like home games and that pressure to always get the first goal early to trigger the fans can be good or bad sometimes if you don't score early. I find it extremely interesting how so many Angels... fans can just sit back and continue to be okay with this. The team is bad and the management from the front office down to the dugout has been bad. To make matters worse, I see some of you on here complaining about the tarps off movement in the stadium, saying things like “they’re saying bad words” or “it isn’t going to work so just give up,” and more of the same. At least there is a group here that actually cares and wants change, and they are willing to step out and protest in their own way. Stop being okay with losing. One last thing I would like to say is... about the Grand Sports Day. Charlotte seemed quite down from the beginning. Granted, maybe she was tired, but her usual spark just wasn’t there, and I assume it had to do with that person. Colmap 4.0 was very recently released, so it inspired... me to do some work to better understand it and its new capabilities with Rerun. I want to really understand how Colmap, and in particular, pycolmap, works outside of just calling it via the CLI. So my goal is to use the low-level pycolmap API to log every part of the pipeline. The explicit goal is to have an alternative to the SQLite database that I can utilize. Instead of SQLite, I want to try logging everything directly to rerun and use RRD. This means I can have deep inspectability and still save the features/matches/2D view geometry, but be able to view it directly in rerun. I think this is one of the superpowers that rerun provides; data and visualizations are deeply integrated. As I'm often working with sequential data (videos), I'm going to specifically focus on four things: 1. Monocular Video Simple: Calls high-level APIs such as pycolmap.extract_features, pycolmap.match_sequential, pycolmap.incremental_mapping. These are basically identical to the CLI options and provide a good baseline. 2. Monocular Video Streamed: Take the above high-level APIs and break them down to their iterator version, logging each component in a streamed manner. This way, I can stream the intermediate features to rerun while the extraction/matching/mapping is happening. 3. Rig with unknown calibration: <- WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS This is probably the most interesting version and the first one I've been working on. It allows one to set a rig between known sensors, such as in VR/AR devices, leading to much better reconstructions with multiple cameras. This is the case where we don't know the calibration a priori, so we have to run a reconstruction twice: once as a normal Colmap reconstruction with no rig constraints, use this to generate the constraints, and then do it again with the newly found rig. 4. Rig with known calibration: This is the RoboCap example, where we have a pre-calibrated set of sensors, so we don't need to run the two reconstructions and also gain better matching between cameras, both spatially and temporally. Again, this leads to a much better reconstruction! Along with all this, GLOMAP has become a first-class global mapper, making it super easy to use directly within pycolmap! I’ve been traveling through China with my family the... past 3.5 weeks and the more time I spend here the more I realize one important fact 👇 Chinese people want the same things in life as every other culture in the world. Good job, safe country, children, opportunities for those children, quality of life that continues to improve. I’ve been coming to China for the past 18 years and can see why Chinese people have an overwhelming positive view of their government but more importantly their country. My family and I came to play tennis this afternoon and found the world class sport facility on a rooftop of a downtown office building. 8 outdoor tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, 4 indoor tennis courts and over 15 coaches. This is just one example of a plethora of changes across China the past two decades. Better infrastructure, clean streets, less crime, better education, the list goes on and on Sport is growing fast in China, people are prioritizing their health and this society is moving forward. Before, I saw Sana and Jihyo looking tired and... even massaging their legs. But today, it is heartbreaking and painfully obvious that Sana is not okay at all. Watching the members suffer one by one like this is breaking my heart, and JYP’s handling of their health is deeply disappointing. I am especially disappointed in JYP. In my opinion, JYP made a huge mistake when Dahyun was sick. They did not even take her to the doctor for an X-ray. Dahyun had to endure the pain for almost a month and still perform. Even in Incheon, she had to walk to the parking lot while limping, without any ankle support or a wheelchair. Before that, Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung were sick and had to miss the tour. We even had to watch Jihyo perform while she was sick, sitting on a chair on stage. That was painful to see. Then Mina had to be absent today because of health issues, and now we can clearly see that Sana is also not in good condition. Watching this happen again and again is exhausting and heartbreaking. How many times do we have to see the members suffer before their health is truly taken seriously? I know concerts and schedules are decided together by the members and the agency. But why does it feel like the girls’ health is always the last thing being considered? Can’t the agency do better and put their health first, just once? The girls are the kind of idols who truly love meeting fans. They will keep showing up even when they are unwell, as long as they can still stand. That is exactly what scares me the most. A lot of women responded saying policing women’s clothes is not going to stop sexual assault. This lady here is reportedly, a Congress politician. She says if the actress (she is referring to) has guts, she has to come out in public with a bikini without security guards. The men on the road will eventually want to rape her and she should get raped, shut up and sit at home - she better not dare / bother going to the police station. And if she dares, whatever “half” clothes are left on her body will also be removed and …. I haven’t watched the entire video - however, the scenario here and how they are referring to women in public spaces, in the medi and the level of abuse is setting a dangerous precedent, justifying sexual assault and abuse against children, old women and the dead, saying men are unable to control themselves and therefore, women’s ‘immodest’ clothing is the reason for rapes on kids.
