Two high-magnitude earthquake forecasts for Colombia and Indonesia that... I made seven weeks ago the same day as the Venezuela M7.2 & M7.5 earthquakes (06/24/26 have now come to pass. Colombia has a history of big earthquakes close in time to big earthquakes in Venezuela, and it was hit by the M7.4 earthquake just 4 days ago (08/10/26), and the M7.7 that struck Indonesia today (08/14/26) was directly antipodal (opposite side of the globe) to the epicenter of the Venezuela earthquakes. I also successfully forecasted the first megaquake in 4 years, the M8.8 Kamchatka Megaquake of July 29th 2025, 3 days before it occurred based on the anomalous earthquake swarming that was occurring in that location paired with the 4 year megaquake deficit we were in (meaning we were statistically very overdue, typically we have one M8.0+ EQ yearly). In November 2025 when magnitude 5.0+ earthquake swarming struck Japan I then forecasted that high magnitude activity was likely coming based on the intensity and frequency of the growing earthquake swarm. A few days later M6.4 and M6.8 earthquakes struck, and in the months since multiple magnitude 7.0+ earthquakes have battered Japan non-stop. That's four different successful earthquake forecasts for most of the strongest earthquakes to have hit Earth over the last year - a very active 12 months seismically. There are other successful forecasts too but we'll stick with these for brevity. There may be some roughness around the edges of earthquake forecasting currently - the holy grail of EQ forecasting is exact location, time, magnitude, and depth - but clearly these different techniques utilized (historic EQ patterns, earthquake swarm activity, EQ antipodes, among others) are informative and have merit based on real-life observations. Space weather, especially coronal hole high-speed-stream impacts, are also super useful for global high-magnitude earthquake forecasting. It's also quite common to see a BIG M7.5+ earthquake strike the same day a significant solar flare and CME launches from anywhere on the Sun. I'll keep research, learning, and sharing with everyone. 🚨14 MINUTES BEFORE THE PRESIDENT ANNOUNCED PEACE PROGRESS WITH... IRAN, SOMEONE DUMPED $580 MILLION IN OIL FUTURES. Oil crashed 10% that day. And that’s just one entry on the list. On the morning of March 23, between 6:49 and 6:50 AM, roughly 6,200 oil futures contracts worth $580 million changed hands in a single minute. The normal volume for that window is about 700. At 7:04 AM, Trump posted on Truth Social that the US was having “productive conversations” with Iran and pausing strikes. Oil crashed more than 10% that day. Whoever sold first was perfectly positioned. Nobody knows who it was. A senator flagged another $1.5 billion in stock futures traded minutes before a separate Iran post. A Nobel economist called the pattern “treason.” The White House called the accusations “baseless and irresponsible.” But that was just one day. Here’s the bigger pattern. CNN used AI to cross-reference Trump’s financial disclosures against his Truth Social posts. His disclosure lists over 21,000 transactions. What they found. At least 44 stock purchases across 21 different companies. Each made within a week BEFORE he posted a flattering message about that company, its CEO, or its products. The clearest example. In early April 2025, his accounts bought between $200,000 and $500,000 in Nvidia. Days later he praised the company’s US expansion and promised “all necessary permits will be expedited and quickly delivered.” Same pattern with Tesla, Palantir, Micron, and American Eagle. Buy first. Promote to millions of followers after. Then there was the tariff episode. On April 9, 2025, he posted “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!” Four hours later he paused his own tariffs. The market soared 9.5%. The White House says his money sits in fully discretionary accounts run by independent firms. That he gives no input and gets no advance notice of any trade. He denies all wrongdoing. But watchdogs note he never used a blind trust. So he can always see what he owns. And he was over a year late on disclosures the law requires within 45 days. Now here’s the part that ties it all together. Days ago, Trump Media launched “Truth API.” A data feed built for high-frequency trading firms. It delivers his Truth Social posts to Wall Street in milliseconds. Machine-readable. Before you or I would even see them. Their own CEO said the quiet part out loud. “Markets already move on Truth Social posts.” So the company is now selling hedge funds a head start on the words of the most market-moving man alive. Proving any of it in court is nearly impossible. His posts are public the instant he makes them. And the agencies that would investigate report to him. So the trades stay legal. I think that fast strides are the most powerful... training stimulus for runners. For a glimpse at the physiology, I want to talk about my all-time favorite study. If we were playing FMK, I’d F this study, M this study, and K any study that is not this study. Published in 2018 in Physiological Reports, it had 20 trained athletes (14 men and 6 women) complete a 40-day intervention with 10 sessions involving 5-10 x 30 seconds with 3.5 minutes recovery, in conjunction with a 36% reduction in weekly volume. Before and after the intervention, participants did a time-to-exhaustion test, two 10km tests (one with glycogen depletion) preceded by 2 x 6 minute intervals at 60% of VO2 max, and a series of muscle biopsy and blood tests. Running economy during the 10k improved by 2.1% and during the intervals at 60% of VO2 max by 1.7%. In other words, the athletes improved at both hard efforts and easy ones. Meanwhile, there was no running economy change in the glycogen-depletion 10k, leading the authors to theorize that improvements were primarily related to changes in slow-twitch muscle fibers. Expression of protein dystrophin increased, which may enhance the ST-fiber structural integrity via the actin-myosin cross-bridge, improving running economy. In addition, the expression of UCP3 decreased, which may improve mitochondrial efficiency. In fast-twitch fibers, expression of the muscle protein SERCA1 decreased by 22%, which could reduce the energy turnover during exercise. Enzymatic activity and testosterone:cortisol ratio also went up. Don’t be discouraged, I only kinda know what a few of those words mean. The point is that as researchers introduce stride-like speed sessions and measure more variables, they often see major changes that may explain why Olympians are always doing strides. So when we use the term “running economy,” we’re actually incorporating dozens of these physiological variables, some of which we can measure and some of which we can’t, from the cells to the muscles to the circulatory and cardiovascular systems.
