🗓️ The Portals State of the Union is happening... on Sunday, January 28, where we begin to take the wraps off what we’ve been cooking over the last half of 2023. We have been strategically quieter on the timeline, while relentlessly focused on building a self-sustaining, successful platform that thrives with both web2 and web3 audiences. We have been validating secret projects, while competitors seem to be continuing in the wrong direction. The team has been working on the most valuable experiences and products possible now that we have the fastest/best-in-class 3D experience creator out there. Portals has always been a labor of love. It’s our life’s work, and we are not going anywhere. Solana is also here to stay, further establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with and gaining more of the recognition it deserves. It's time for us to put forward more of the on-chain ecosystem projects we have always wanted to do. Rolling out new systems, incentives, and experiences to fortify Portals as one web3's killer apps and top destinations. We have a lot to share, and we can't wait to show you. This year's State of the Union will be delivered in video format, across X, Discord, and in Portals. We'll be dropping more teasers while looking forward to seeing you on January 28!show more

Why is the market selling off today? (Save this).... The semi selloff right now is being driven by a mix of macro fear, profit taking and investors questioning how quickly all of this AI spending will actually pay off, not because demand for AI infrastructure suddenly disappeared. The market is basically trading this chain reaction, the ongoing US Iran escalation pushes oil higher, higher oil keeps inflation elevated, sticky inflation keeps Treasury yields high and that increases the risk of the Fed staying hawkish or even hiking again. That is a terrible setup for semis because many of these companies are valued on the massive earnings investors expect them to generate years from now. When yields rise, those future earnings become worth less today which is why the highest multiple AI and semiconductor names usually get hit first. (I don't think there will be a hike this year). This is also why everything is moving together right now. Nvidia, Micron, Nebius, SanDisk, Broadcom and Applied Optoelectronics are all completely different businesses, but institutions are not separating memory, networking, optics, compute and cloud infrastructure at the moment. They are reducing exposure to the entire AI trade, taking profits in the names that have already run the most and moving into a more defensive position potentially ahead of the Fed. There is also growing pressure around hyperscaler capex. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google are still spending enormous amounts on GPUs, data centers, networking and power but the market is starting to ask when all of that spending will actually turn into revenue and free cash flow. Investors are no longer satisfied with hearing that AI capex is growing. They want proof that the returns are arriving fast enough to justify the valuations already priced into the entire AI ecosystem. That creates a weird situation where hyperscaler capex can continue rising while semiconductor stocks still fall. The market is not asking whether AI spending is growing anymore but rather asking whether it is growing fast enough to beat the expectations already baked into these stocks. Crowded positioning is another major factor. Semis and AI infrastructure stocks have been some of the biggest winners in the market so institutions are sitting on huge profits and many funds own the exact same names. When macro risk increases, investors usually sell the most liquid winners first. That does not mean demand for memory, optics or custom chips suddenly collapsed but rather means investors are locking in gains and reducing risk. Tariffs add another layer because even when they are not directly placed on chips, they can still raise the cost of servers, electrical equipment, cooling systems, construction materials and the overall data center buildout. That makes AI infrastructure more expensive while also adding another source of inflation. Then you have Jensen Huang’s letter to the White House this morning about open weight AI models, which I think is one of the most important long term developments here. Nvidia, Meta, Microsoft, Palantir and several other companies are pushing Washington not to place broad restrictions on open weight AI. OpenAI and Anthropic were notably absent because open models are much more of a threat to their business models. OpenAI and Anthropic benefit from a world where a few closed frontier labs control the best models and companies have to pay them through subscriptions and APIs. Open weight models weaken that advantage because businesses can download a model, customize it for their own use and run it on their own infrastructure or through a neocloud. That is bad for OpenAI and Anthropic because it puts pressure on pricing, margins and the idea that they will control the intelligence layer of the economy but it is very good for the AI ecosystem as a whole over the long run. But the question is what does this mean for all the OpenAI and Anthropic commitments? so that's adding to the fear as well. But with that being said open models make AI cheaper and more accessible. Instead of AI being controlled by a few giant labs, thousands of startups, universities, governments and regular businesses can deploy models themselves. That spreads AI adoption across the entire economy and creates a much larger infrastructure opportunity and that is exactly why Jensen cares. Nvidia does not need OpenAI or Anthropic to win. Nvidia just needs more people using AI. Whether the model comes from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Mistral, Kimi or some startup nobody has heard of yet, it still needs GPUs, memory, networking, data centers and electricity. So open weight AI could actually weaken the model companies while making the infrastructure layer much bigger. More open models mean more companies running inference. More inference means more GPUs. More GPUs mean more HBM, optical transceivers, switches, data centers and power. That is bullish for Nvidia Nebius, Micron, Broadcom , Marvell and Applied Optoelectronics over the long run. So my take is that the current semi selloff is being driven mostly by macro uncertainty, higher oil, rising yields, Fed fears, tariffs, crowded positioning and questions around the return on hyperscaler capex. The underlying AI infrastructure thesis has not suddenly broken. We are not broadly seeing hyperscalers cancel GPU orders, slash capex, abandon data center projects or report that AI demand has collapsed. What has changed is the valuation investors are willing to pay while the macro environment remains unstable. The market is lowering the price it is willing to pay for semiconductor growth but is not necessarily saying that growth is gone. And while Jensen’s open weight push may be bad for OpenAI and Anthropic, it could be one of the best things possible for the AI ecosystem over the long run because it creates more models, more developers, more competition and ultimately much more demand for the infrastructure underneath all of it. Nothing about the AI thesis has changed for me, so I will be going shopping and taking advantage of this sale while the market is selling everything together. THIS IS WHY YOU WILL LOSE MONEY IN THE... STOCK MARKET CHASING HYPE! $IONQ, $RGTI, $LAES, $BTW , $OKLO , $JOBY , $META Peter Lynch – one of the greatest investors of all time – sums it up perfectly: - "Stocks are not lottery tickets" - "There is a company behind every stock, if the company does well the stock does well...it's not that complicated" - "People get carried away and first of all they try and predict the stock market, that is a total waste of time, no one can predict the stock market" This advice is timeless. Unfortunately, many new investors are jumping into hype sectors and stocks like Quantum ( $ionq, $rgti, $laes, $btq), Nuclear (e.g., $oklo), and flying cars (e.g., $joby). Some of these bubble stocks are up 4,000% in the last 12 months even though they are not profitable, some have zero revenue, yet they are valued at billions of dollars. Keep your investing strategy simple. Don’t chase hype - look for profitable, growing companies that are actually doing well. That’s why I like $META - it’s a cash cow and it keeps compounding. Unfortunately, a lot of beginners get sucked into these bubbles and buy at the top, right as the algo's and hedge funds are exiting - joining the feeding frenzy for quick profits. Retail investors end up holding the bag as reality hits. We’ve already seen it in the past month alone - many of these companies have crashed 50–60%, with potentially much deeper drawdowns. DON'T CHASE HYPE. STOCKS ARE NOT LOTTERY TICKETS. CHASE WELL-RUN COMPANIES. KEEP IT SIMPLE!show more

Burnley already promoted 3-0 and look at the reaction... of the players this is why they don’t concede many goals and I love everything about the mentality here. Doing the basics of football and life and doing them very well is a great start for any young player and take that all the way through your career, we all make mistakes, we all dare to be different, we all love winning and hate losing but be a good team mate put the team 1st, set the right examples day in day out, push each other to be better and take accountability if your not giving your all every time you cross that white line 🙌show more

Some videos don’t just make you uncomfortable. They make... you stop and ask what kind of society we’ve become. I watched this and felt a deep sadness settle in my chest. Not anger first. Not political rage. Just grief. Grief for the little ones who never get the chance to take a breath, and grief for the women who are being told this is empowerment when it looks a whole lot more like something darker. Scripture doesn’t dance around the value of life. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” “Children are a heritage from the Lord.” “You shall not murder.” We’ve reached a place where some celebrate the decision to end a life that is already fully formed, already capable of feeling pain, already made in the image of God… and they smile while they do it. That should never feel normal. It should never feel progressive. It should never feel like freedom. Real freedom is the courage to protect the weakest among us. Real strength is the woman who chooses life even when it’s hard. Real progress is a culture that refuses to sacrifice its children on the altar of convenience. I’m not here to shame anyone who’s already walked through this pain. God’s mercy is bigger than our worst decisions. But I am here to say out loud what too many are afraid to say: This is not healthcare. This is not compassion. This is not the America our grandparents fought to protect. Vote for life. Pray for life. Speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Because if we stay silent while the most innocent are discarded, we will answer for it. Lord, give us hearts that break for what breaks Yours. Restore the fear of God in this land. And protect every child still waiting to be born.show more

What an incredible first day and what a raptuous... welcome from the city of Reggio Emilia🇮🇹❤️ When Catherine first entered the RF, Prince Philip told her: 'If you believe the attention is for you personally, you’re going to end up in trouble. The attention is for your role, what you do, what you’re supporting. It isn’t for you as an individual. You are not a celebrity. You are representing the Royal Family. That’s all. Don’t look at the camera. The Queen never looks at the camera. Never. Look at who you’re talking to. Look at what you’ve come to see.🔥 However there is a caveat here: People DO come to see Catherine. These people did not just come to see Royalty or the monarchy, they came to see Catherine. They came because they love HER and they came in crowds for HER❤️ And this is really what makes this woman so different: the screams of excitement as if she is a celebrity superstar, the adoration in Their eyes... this is not about the Monarchy but about Catherine. In that, the commoner the british press mocked and belittled; The one who was judged as "inconsequential" and "too shy" is the one who has transcended the RF to become an Icon in her own rights🔥 Whether she goes on a private visit or on an official visit, alone or accompanied; she is the ONE people are there to see. Well and so, look How far did Humility and grace get this Berkshire country girl...😏❤️ #PrincessofWales 📹 Max Fostershow more

Astra (GPT-6) is here!!! I've had early access and... tested it like crazy with things like games, code, writing, browser control, presentations and general knowledge work. This is the best model I've ever used. Period. (Incredible demos below in this thread ⬇️) Here's my take on Astra: > It's insanely capable. This feels like a massive improvement, not just an incremental change. This is especially true with zero-shot prompts. > It's all about knowledge work. Slide creation, analysis, writing, and browser control. And oh my...it's so good at browser control. GPT-5.6 was already fantastic at doing things in the browser, Astra is another level and significantly faster. > We're closer than ever (arrived?) at prompt-to-playable game. And I don't just mean only playable, these are actually fun games. I bet if someone with a great eye for games used Astra, they could create a viral game within 1-2 weeks. > Astra is better at writing but not perfect. It removes much of the "AI Smell" we're all familiar with but some stink still survived. > It has a tendency to use the same design colors and look/feel as GPT-5.6 (forrest green anyone?) but it is more steerable in design than previous models. > It's highly steerable in general. A little nudge goes a long way. When I first started using Astra, almost every task I gave it would go for ~30 minutes. I wanted it to keep working. Adding more specifics to a prompt helped greatly with it's ability to work for a long time. > Astra's 3D understanding is unmatched. 3D asset creation was consistent and easy and its spacial awareness while building complex 3D worlds blew me away. I'm still getting familiar with Astra but this will now be my go-to model for any difficult work I have. Check out the demos below: 👇show more

Dear Andrej Karpathy, Update on this. Earlier this month... The Innovation Game (𝔦, 𝔦) announced a new SOTA routing algorithm had been collaboratively developed and submitted to The Innovation Game. The algorithm demonstrated the largest single perfomance jump in the modern history of the field on standard academic benchmarks: This success is a powerful proof of concept. I believe the wider implications will also interest you. As you know, the "Source" in AI is algorithms and data. These algorithms are typically for "hard to solve but easy to verify" problems. Remarkably, this allows the creation of a market for pricing improvements to these algorithms (roughly, the market is created by "racing" the algorithms, to see which can produce proof-of-work fastest). Availability of a market mechanism means open development of the algorithms can be funded by capturing a portion of the value they generate, and allocating it back to algorithm developers. The allocation is efficient, naturally integrating information (such as hardware availability) through revealed preferences. Importantly, market allocation is also "impersonal", which mitigates the risk to community cohesion that has historically afflicted Open Source projects offering monetary reward. Note: That a market for pricing code could extend Open Source to areas requiring monetary reward was (as far as I know) first suggested by Eric Raymond in 1999 Eric S. Raymond : Conclusion: The structure of Open Source AI means it can operate commercially. For example, value captured via Open Source "dual licensing", with allocation of the value by a market generated by proof-of-work. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Please see for more detail.show more

We're excited to unveil NRN Agents, a rebrand that... aligns our project identity with our token and strengthens our mission to power the future of AI-driven gaming. This mission requires collaboration, and starting this week, we will begin our expansion to become a multi-chain ecosystem. We are joining forces with leading gaming platforms and ecosystems to realize this vision. Stay tuned for more announcements to come. Why NRN Agents? NRN stands for NEURON, the fundamental unit of intelligence. Our AI agents function as the neural foundation of games, learning, adapting, and evolving within game worlds to deliver unparalleled engagement. NRN agent SDK enables advanced gaming agents powered by a proprietary machine learning infrastructure focused on behavioral learning. We've perfected the craft of gaming agent design, creating hyper-efficient agents that are performant and scalable—from casual to the most demanding games. Our SDK will seamlessly integrate into many platforms, tech stacks, and ecosystem – Any Game. Any Chain. More than just games, it's the path to AGI Gaming is our proving ground, but not our final destination. We're using games as a sandbox to accelerate the development of generalized intelligence—one that will create meaningful real-world impact. With the upcoming launch of [redacted] and a growing network of partners committed to the AGI vision, we're building an open-source innovation movement powered by an AI x gaming framework connected by $NRN. $NRN the token $NRN is a utility token that serves as the gateway to our growing ecosystem. It will power a diversified economy with multiple revenue streams and staking opportunities: Agent Deployment: NRN is the laboratory creating gaming agents that can be distributed through platforms and launchpads alike. The model is simple: More games integrate, more NRN agents get deployed, more monetization. Data Creation: NRN Reinforcement Learning (RL) enables token staking to create Data Capsules. Players contribute gameplay data into the Capsules, which are used train RL agents and reward participants (players & stakers). AI Arena: $NRN also continues to power AI Arena's in-game economy, a cult favorite of competitive diehards that features a skill-based wagering system. To our community who have supported us since 2021: thank you for being part of our journey—the next chapter will be the most exciting yet!show more

🚨Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Barcola + Mbaye to Liverpool for... close to €200m: “Premier League inflated the market… now pay the price.” 🗣️“PSG asking close to 200 million for Barcola and Mbaye together is not crazy. It is the market you created. Elliot Anderson goes for 135 million. Morgan Rogers for almost 140. English clubs are throwing ridiculous money at players who have never won a Champions League, never carried a nation at a World Cup, never been the difference in the biggest games. Then they look at Barcola — two-time Champions League winner, France international, proven at the highest level — and suddenly 170 is ‘too much’? Please. Barcola is not some Premier League product hyped by Sky Sports. He is a real footballer who already has European titles. Mbaye is young, hungry, and has the kind of upside that clubs pay fortunes for later when it is too late. Together near 200 is high, yes. A bit high. But egregious? No. Not when the Premier League has completely inflated and ruined the transfer market with their own spending. I know value. I have been the most expensive player, the difference-maker, the one who made clubs rich by existing. PSG are not stupid. They built a machine that wins. They know what their players are worth in this market. If Liverpool want both, stop crying and pay. Or sit down like men and negotiate a serious number that respects the asking price. You cannot complain about the bill after you ordered the most expensive menu on the table for years. The Premier League spent like drunk tourists and now acts shocked when someone else asks for real money for real quality. That is not PSG being greedy. That is the market catching up to the mess English clubs made. If Liverpool want Barcola and Mbaye, they pay what the market demands or they leave them in Paris. Simple. Lions do not negotiate with feelings. They take what is theirs… or they pay the price.”show more

We are building the home of the doge economy... Projects across every major vertical are already gearing up to launch on DogeOS. Builders are cooking. Here's what the community should be excited to explore.... Much Thoughts ✍️ Very 🐕 So Soon... 💱 DeFi Swaps, lending, yield, memes all running on DogeOS with Dogecoin at the heart of it all. This means the most beloved and recognized asset in crypto finally gets a real financial system built around it. Doge stops being just a vibe and starts being productive. The community has been asking for this for years. 🎮 Gaming On-chain games built on DogeOS: play, compete, unlock with Dogecoin. Doge was born from meme and gaming culture. Bringing games on-chain is just Doge coming home. Play to unlock, play to grow, play because it's fun. Gaming is one of the strongest onramps in all of crypto. It's how you turn curious onlookers into active participants. This is a chance to bring the fun and the love of this community to a whole new wave of users, and remind the old ones why they fell in love with Doge in the first place. 🤖 AI Builders are already positioned to ship AI powered dApps, agents, and tools natively on DogeOS. Think automated trading agents, AI assistants that manage your wallet, dApp builders, and solutions that get smarter the more the ecosystem grows. Agents benefit from fast and cheap transaction environments, and that's exactly what DogeOS is built for. DogeOS becomes the rails for the next wave of on-chain AI, with Doge as the fuel. 📣 Community and Social Apps built for the culture. Social tools, creator platforms, community coordination, all on-chain and all for the Doge economy. Dogecoin has always had the strongest community in crypto. Now that community gets its own social layer instead of living as a guest in another chain's world. Dogecoin should be the focal point, not just another asset being served. 🐕 All your desires. One ecosystem. We are building toward the future this community has dreamt of, making Dogecoin the central piece of a real on-chain economy. This is just the start. Much building. Prepare your paws.show more
