We’re not hiding behind our performance, we take responsibility... for the result. But a serious question: is this a penalty? If not, why not? Was it checked by VAR? If yes, how long did it take to conclude the ball didn’t hit the hand? Because on the broadcast replay, it clearly appears to be handball. So why was the referee not asked to review it on the monitor?show more

The referee, standing right next to them, did not... give a penalty for this. He said it was on the ball.show more

So the VAR review said today this was a... penalty (which even sitting in the stands we knew it was) and the reason it wasn’t reviewed at the time by VAR is because the referee didn’t request it. Seems odd, had the ball rolled into the net it would’ve been!show more

"If the focus is on the result...not good. It... has to be in the process. It has to be on your habits. If we are not getting better at our fundamentals, if we are not focusing on the process, it's gonna catch us." You control your effort - not the outcomes.show more

These are the times I thought, if there really... is a Deep State, this is the guy who could take it down. But alas, it was not to be.show more

Not criticising the referee individually because I’ve said many... times how rugby long ago LOST THE PLOT with not-rolling-away/holding-on penalties but this was a classic of the genre in Bristol last night. It should not be a penalty; and absolutely never a yellow for Ma’asi-Whiteshow more

This is a textbook example of why the "ball... to hand" rule exists. According to IFAB Law 12, a handball is not an offense if the ball is hit on the hand or arm directly from a teammate’s kick or header at close range. Vitinha smashed the ball into Neves from point-blank range and so, it is classified as “unpreventable contact”, the rule is superseded by proximity. Neves has zero reaction time to move his arm when the ball is coming off a teammate’s foot from two yards away. There’s also the fact that it was a defensive clearance and not an opponent's shot or a goal-bound ball, there is no "unfair advantage" gained. So, this wasn’t a pen, IMOshow more

IFAB rules clearly state that the referee can’t refer... to VAR after play is restarted. So why was it allowed for the Celtic penalty after the throw-in had been taken?show more

A clearly hand ball but the referee chose to... ignore itshow more

This is another example of how VAR is useless... for anything beyond offside calls. It only adds noise and more inconsistency. This was a clear penalty. Konsa did not touch the ball. Should have been reviewed, but VAR did not intervene.show more

We were right in the middle of San Francisco... — a city that’s not exactly known for being the friendliest to Jews. But that made it the perfect spot for us. We love our Jewishness and yes, our Jewish homeland…and we’re not hiding it. 🇮🇱show more

This angle of Maguire's penalty appeal against Tottenham is... so clear and sad to see. How was a case as clear as this not checked by the referee and VAR at all?show more

Not only does it not “definitely” hit the hand.... He also said it come from a throw in, let me see the throw in……. Btw it was a foul throw as the Celtic players foot was on the pitch when the ball was released. How can so much go wrong with 4 officials?show more

Why I’m not very impressed with the ability of... AI to “think”… On the 40th anniversary of Jack Nicklaus winning the 1986 Masters, I asked @Grok Imagine to take the iconic image of Jack making the putt on the 17th hole, and turn it into a video. It was very clearly clueless… 🤷‍♂️show more

Originally i thought by the Letter of the law... there is a case for this to stand as it was "accidental" but on further inspection, he clearly moves his hand towards the ball blocking the path of the pass. This is deliberate handball.show more

Prior to the 3rd Argentina goal, there was a... foul on Salah inside the penalty area. The referee didn’t even VAR check this and allowed the Argentina goal. Egypt was DISALLOWED a goal because the referee VAR checked a foul on Argentina. Egypt was ABSOLUTELY ROBBED!!show more

Ranger v Livingston. Livingston penalty shout for handball. No... penalty given. Referee didn’t call it. John Beaton on VAR didn’t call the ref to look.show more

not sure why they didn’t call it immediately if... they saw it (though it really was so subtle) also don’t blame Pirates fans who were angry/confused since they never showed the above angle on the PIT broadcast but you can see the ump telling Don Kelly “he hit his glove”show more
