A lot of hitters confuse being late with letting... the ball get deep. They’re not the same thing. In this video I show it with a simple example. I toss the ball and reach way out in front of me to catch it. That’s what late looks like. The ball already beat you… now you’re chasing it with your hands. Then I toss another one and catch it slightly behind me. That’s being on time and letting the ball get deep. When you’re late, your body and barrel are reacting after the ball passes your window. You’re forced to reach, cut across it, or roll it over. When you’re on time, you can let the ball travel and still control it. Now the barrel can stay through the zone longer, and you can drive it with authority. Deep ≠ late. Good hitters aren’t reaching for the ball… they’re on time enough to let it come to them. ⚾️ Train with an expert. Not an influencer.show more

Don’t be like this player. So many players still... don’t use boost efficiently, even though boost management is the most important skill in the game. A good guideline is to save boost for when you’re making a play on the ball and use your movement to get to the ball. Here is a player who uses all of his boost to chase the ball, and when he ends up low on boost, he keeps chasing anyway. This leads to him bumping his teammate and giving up an easy goal.show more

Here's that Conklin play at the end. You can... see Saleh up top, standing 4 yards to our left from the ref. The end gets cut off, but you can see the ref start to run downfield toward the play and Saleh chasing behind him. I think the ref couldn't hear/see Saleh. Not great on the ref's part at all (he should be assuming Saleh wants to call it there and be more prepared for it: also how can you not hear him?) but why is Saleh not standing right next to the ref? Should be hovering over the man. Could've made this a whole lot easier To me this is a mix of both subpar officiating and a coaching mistake. Definitely not a great job by the ref, but also slightly on Saleh for making this harder by standing 4 yards away from the ref instead of right next to him. IMO But still, even at the very end of this clip there's ~17-16 seconds left. I find it very hard to believe Saleh didn't get the timeout in until 13 seconds.
