"Why are young women using walking sticks?" One of... the newer trends among Leftists is to use walking sticks or wheelchairs. I've seen this going on for a long time, but didn't think much of it until this article came out several days ago and Leftists had meltdowns over it. The people doing it tend to be fully capable of walking and functioning perfectly fine when they're in the mood to do it. They almost always identify as some form of LGBT, tend to be female, are often overweight, usually don't work, and are often self diagnosed with things like ADHD, chronic pain, fatigue, migraines..., which they claim cause their disabilities. There are countless people with actual disabilities who are often in severe pain, truly have issues with walking, are missing limbs, mostly paralyzed, have difficulty speaking, are deaf or blind, have different diseases that they fight against every day..., yet they try their best to function like most people, work, get degrees, have families, socialize.... People with true disabilities tend to treat them like abilities. They have something that may be seen as a a disability, but instead treat it as a slight disadvantage that pushes them try doing just as good, if not better than everyone else. They don't make it their whole identity. These "disabled" Leftists on the other hand make it their whole identity. Their bios and posts are full of them trying to push how "disabled" they are. The real disability of theirs is laziness and feeling the need to victimize themselves in order to get attention that they don't get otherwise and probably didn't get enough of when they were younger. There is now "disability pride month" to push how much of a victim their self diagnosis made them because they need a month to remind you of it every day instead of every other day. Saint Bernadette Soubirous, was a poor peasant girl from Lourdes who claimed that the Virgin Mary appeared to her 18 good times. People mocked her, questioned her, investigated and doubted her during her lifetime and suddenly later believed her after the miracle of Lourdes. She died in 1879. Thirty years later, in 1909, her body was exhumed. They were expecting to find only bones. Instead, they found a remarkably preserved body. When her body was exhumed in 1909, witnesses and physicians documented that it was remarkably well preserved, with the skin and body largely intact. They buried her again. She was exhumed again in 1919 (40 years after her death), they couldn't believe their eyes. Third exhumation in 1925, 46 years in the ground, same result, incorrupt. Across the exhumations, the preservation of her body was documented by medical professionals. Today, her body remains on display at the Chapel of Saint Bernadette in Nevers, France. You don't have to believe in miracles simply because someone tells you to. But you should at least ask the question: Why has this case endured for more than a century? Why were there multiple examinations? Why was her body found so remarkably preserved? And why is the Church still presenting her story to the world? The Catholic Church does not teach that every incorrupt body is automatically a miracle. But cases like Bernadette's certainly deserve investigation rather than dismissal. It hurts to say this, but it’s the truth.... I’m disappointed in the amount of issues I’ve had with my R1S. This is going to be a long post. I’m disappointed that an issue that was found AT DELIVERY (Feb 8th, 2024) is still not solved. I owe it to all of you, especially my followers, to be open and honest. No car is perfect, but at some point you have to stop with the “I’m going to be nice and keep giving you chance after chance.” I live about 90 miles away from my service center. So that is 180 miles round trip. I’ve had 8 service appointments with number 9 scheduled for this Monday! 9th appt is for the R1T front driver suspension sagging. Some of my issues were solved. But the major issue on my R1S is not resolved sadly. The issue is my passenger door. It’s badly out of alignment, makes lots of noise when driving and rattles. The door has been realigned 4x now, the hinges have been replaced and it’s still making the noise and rattling and not able to be aligned. Now, the door is worse than at delivery and is rubbing the fender when you open it. It has now pulled paint off the door. I was told, that “Other R1S are doing this and currently no fix that engineering will have to come up with some fix.” Video attached. My R1S & R1T are leased. Between my R1T and my R1S, I have driven roughly 1450 miles of my lease mileage limit in service appt trips. I think this is unacceptable for ANY Vehicle regardless of power train. The R1S has done about 1k miles of the 1450. What I would say going forward, if you are buying a Rivian product, DO NOT TAKE DELIVERY of the vehicle if there is anything wrong with it at all. Make them find you another VIN. I still support Rivian. They are dear to my heart. But enough is enough. With almost 200k worth of vehicles in my garage, this is NOT the experience anyone would expect. I have had my share of issues with my Tesla vehicles, but nothing to this scale where I have been to a service center this much so early in the ownership. I have begun background processing about the situation, and expressed our intention and what we want done. I want to make this clear as well: every time I go to service, they are super nice & friendly. I appreciate that so much but, at the end of the day, it can’t get my R1S fixed. I will still continue to support Rivian just like I do with all EVs. But this does make me question my R2 purchase when it comes time. As much as I don’t want to go back to an all Tesla household, it’s looking like that is what will happen. I strongly LOVE my R1S. It’s been one of my absolute favorites. Mine just isn’t built well at all and sours the entire experience. Maybe if the background process makes progress and they do the right thing, or replace the vehicle our perception can change. There are plenty of ppl out there without issue. So keep that in mind. I’m just not one of them unfortunately. I’ll do my best to keep this updated as things progress. Los Angeles has become one of the clearest examples of what critics see as the failure of modern progressive urban government. The city sits on extraordinary natural advantages: beautiful weather, Pacific trade, world class universities, enormous cultural influence, immense private wealth, and an economy larger than that of many countries. Yet despite those advantages, Los Angeles has struggled with homelessness, housing costs, street disorder, public drug use, crime concerns, failing infrastructure, and a cost of living that has pushed many working- and middle-class families toward the exits. This decline is not accidental. For decades, Los Angeles has been governed almost entirely by Democratic and progressive political coalitions. Their policies have often emphasized regulation, environmental review, tenant protections, expansive social programs, restrictive zoning, and a criminal-justice approach aimed at reducing incarceration. Supporters say these policies protect vulnerable residents and correct longstanding inequalities. Critics counter that, taken together, they have produced a city where it is extraordinarily difficult to build housing, expensive to operate a business, difficult to remove dangerous encampments, and increasingly common for ordinary citizens to feel that basic rules are selectively enforced. The homelessness crisis is perhaps the most visible symbol. Billions of dollars have been spent, yet tents, addiction, mental illness, and human misery remain visible across parts of the city.
