Life update 👀 Today is my last day Webflow.... 2024 has been a pivotal year in my journey... to better health. After getting down to 315 lb from a high of 376 over the summer of 2023, things went off the rails and I found myself back at 360 lb in September of this year. I decided that enough was enough and recommitted to the #NSNG lifestyle. I set a goal to be under 300 by New Year’s Eve, but as of this morning, I weighed in at 307, so I didn’t quite make it. HOWEVER, I lost 53 pounds in 110 days, which is nothing short of amazing and puts me in a great position to crush 2025. Goals for 2025: 1. Be under 300 by January 17th (my official weigh in day) 2. Be at or below 250 by June 27th 3. Be at or below 200 by December 31st 4. Exercise every day, with at least 3 days lifting weights at the gym, taking walks on days I don’t lift. Steps for Success: 1. Following Robyn Dobbins lead, I bought a daily planner to log exercise and measurements. 2. Continue following #NSNG with LIL days on my birthday, Mardi Gras, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. 3. Checking in with my NSNG group text regularly and speaking up when I’m struggling. (Keeping my mouth shut when I was struggling over the last school year was foolish) 4. Stepping down from the FURIA Roster permanently. Lots of... reasons really but the simplest is that I don't enjoy it, and competing in Apex Legends isn't what's best for me and the people around me. Financially, it just doesn't make sense, because it was heavily cutting into my content and I make more money off 1 month of content grinding then I would getting first place at LAN. My most viewed youtube video single handedly made more money than when I got 2nd place and won MVP at the Season Championship. Mentally, all of these things + the feeling of letting my team and community down due to lack of interest and commitment depressed me over time. It doesn't matter how good I am as a player, if I can't bring the fire to competition I'm just gonna get smoked. And my inconsistency in bringing that energy is what lead to our inconsistent performances. Every day felt like clocking in and I didn't care if we won or lost. Which isn't fair to my teammates when i could easily be replaced with someone who would happily dedicate their entire life to the team. Physically, the schedule we played on made it hard for me to pursue my health goals as I become far less happy. and so I fell off track more and more as time went on. Socially, the schedule of balancing content and competing made it almost impossible to hang out with friends and loved ones. Everyone is happy with the current scenario. Nobody got snaked. Nobody did anything wrong. The entire team will function better. I will be able to more easily pursue my physical, social, mental, and financial goals. This is what's better for everyone. If I couldn't enjoy playing even with my best friend there's no way I'll enjoy playing with any other roster, so I will be done permanently. Twelve months ago, this was my garage. Since then,... I've: - Sold both sports cars - Reduced my monthly spending by $10k - Committed to doing 30% less of everything (travel, dining out, work, etc) And I feel so much lighter. This year, I decided to live life more slowly. Part of that decision was shedding things that were no longer serving me. Supercars gave me something that I needed. I grew up with the red Lamborghini poster on my wall. Owning these incredible machines meant that I had made it. That I was free. But eventually, the cars stopped feeling like freedom… and started feeling like weight. My friend Kevin Dahlstrom says that everything you own owns a piece of you. This year was all about letting go. And the reality is, I no longer need a supercar to remind me who I am. Here's the thing — I don't regret that season of my life. I had incredible experiences, made great friends, and will cherish those memories. Buy the ticket, take the ride. I want to experience everything life has to offer. But in the spirit of Marie Kondo, I can thank these objects for the role they played in my life, and release them with gratitude. Ultimately, it's not about the cars. Stuff, identities, beliefs, even past versions of ourselves are just temporary companions on the path. They serve a purpose for a season, teach us what they are meant to, and then we get to set them free when they no longer fit. Thank you for getting me here.
