The video had gone viral on social media platforms and it raised #RoadSafety concerns among the motorists. They removed the number plates during stunts, the RGI Airport police traced the cars with the help of CCTV and after identifying the drivers caught them. The luxury cars were also seized. Two #Bengaluru girls have been booked for allegedly assaulting... a cab driver, the public and the police under the influence of alcohol on Friday night. The accused have been identified as Liza, a resident of #BannerghattaRoad in #BTMLayout Second Stage, and Amran Mathew, from #Koramangala. Both the accused are students. The police said the two girls were riding a two-wheeler when they dashed into a cab driven by Ahmed Gurkar, 47. They fell onto the road after colliding with the car. The rear left portion of the car also got damaged in the incident. “I helped the girls get up. When they were leaving, I stopped them and told them about the damage, asking them to pay for repairs. The girls started abusing me filthily and assaulted me,” Gurkar stated in the complaint. The police said the situation escalated rapidly as the intoxicated girls attacked Gurkar with their helmets before attempting to flee. When bystanders intervened and demanded an explanation, the girls turned violent toward them as well. A passerby contacted the police helpline 112, and the Hulimavu police staff rushed to the spot. The girls also put up resistance when police officers tried to put them into a Hoysala vehicle. Police in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested the groom,... Farman, and his maternal uncle over allegations that beef was cooked at a wedding reception (walima). The police reached the resort where the wedding was being held and had around 40 cauldrons of korma, prepared for guests, discarded. They also seized a Scorpio vehicle, which was allegedly used to transport the meat as part of the dowry. According to the police, they received credible information that illegal beef would be served at the feast. A team immediately reached the resort, where the accused were present, and arrested them on the spot. Charges have been filed against the accused under sections related to cow slaughter, transportation of beef, illegal sale or serving of meat in a public place, and hurting religious sentiments. The trouble began on May 8 when Srinath, a resident of Rahmat Nagar, took his husky for a walk without a leash. The dog allegedly attacked Dhanunjay and his brother-in-law, Sai Kumar, prompting them to file a complaint with the local police. The situation escalated on May 14 when Srinath was again out with his dog. The husky reportedly barked at three neighbors. In retaliation, the trio, along with Dhanunjay and Sai Kumar, assaulted Srinath and his dog with sticks. Srinath's wife, who tried to intervene, was also injured. West Zone DCP Vijay Kumar commented, "Srinath and his wife suffered grievous injuries, along with their dog, and they are currently receiving treatment. The accused, who are their neighbors, have had ongoing disputes with the victims, culminating in this planned assault." Next morning Fazal Ur Rahman Akeef along with Syed Areeb & Mohammed Sohail went to the Police Station. While waiting for the Inspector, they took photos of their bike & the police station board to inform their family. A cop allegedly ran towards them, snatched the phone and abused them for taking pictures. Soon after, the Inspector of Police Raidurgam arrived and called all three inside his room. After checking their Aadhaar cards, phones, driving licence and bike papers, the Inspector allegedly ordered the cops present to beat them. A young woman was allegedly hacked to death in... broad daylight at the KSRTC bus stand in Bantwal on Thursday, triggering panic among commuters and prompting police to launch a massive search for the absconding accused. The deceased has been identified as Lavanya, a resident of Kakkepadavu. According to preliminary information, she was employed at a private nursing home in Kalladka. When the accused allegedly pulled out a sharp weapon from his bag, Lavanya reportedly attempted to run to safety. However, the attacker allegedly caught up with her and assaulted her repeatedly with the weapon, inflicting fatal injuries before fleeing the scene. The brutal attack unfolded in the presence of commuters and bystanders, leaving many in shock. The incident created a tense atmosphere at the busy KSRTC bus stand, with frightened passengers rushing away from the scene after the attack. Local residents and commuters immediately alerted the police and emergency services. Police personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and secured the crime scene for investigation. Senior officers from the Bantwal Sub-Division Police, the City Police Inspector and other police personnel visited the scene and conducted an inspection. Ashok Dudhe says: "Information was received by Pawan Bansod, DCP (Zone 2), that certain individuals were coming to Bhiwandi today to sell the question papers intended for the TET exam scheduled in Maharashtra tomorrow. He assembled a team and laid a trap, resulting in his team detaining three individuals in the Kongaon area. Upon searching them, mobile phones, debit cards, credit cards, and cash were recovered; additionally, four TET question papers, intended for use tomorrow, were seized from their possession. These papers were verified by senior officers from the Education Department, who confirmed they were indeed the actual papers scheduled for the exam. Consequently, the three individuals were taken into custody, a formal case was registered, and the 'panchnama' was drawn up. Further investigation is currently underway. Given the serious nature of this offense, we have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT). A 40-year-old guest lecturer was allegedly murdered by her... male friend, who later set her body on fire inside a car before dying by suicide, near Jinkebachchahalli village in Doddaballapur taluk on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Saroja (40), a guest lecturer at a private college in Devanahalli. The accused, Ramanjinappa (45), a relator, is suspected to have died by suicide by jumping in front of a train. Ramajinappa was married Senior officer told reporters that Saroja and Ramanjinappa had been in a relationship for the past year. Police said Ramanjinappa had been pressuring her to marry him, but she refused. Saroja having a decent job, living with her with her family and the husband. Investigators believe that enraged by the rejection, Ramanjinappa planned the murder. On the day of the incident, he allegedly took Saroja on a long drive in a car borrowed from a friend. During the journey, an argument broke out, following which he is said to have attacked her with a hammer, killing her on the spot. Police said the accused then set the vehicle on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence and fled the scene. Passers-by noticed the burning car and alerted authorities. Personnel from Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services assisted the Doddaballapura Rural Police Station in dousing the fire. A charred body was later recovered from the backseat of the vehicle. The car was completely gutted and the police found the body in the backseat in a sleeping position and the jawline facing upwards, indicating that she was murdered before setting the car on fire the officer said. Using the chassis number, police traced the vehicle owner, identified as Suresh Kumar, who informed them that he had received an alert about an accident involving the car. His attempts to contact Ramanjinappa were unsuccessful. Later in the evening, railway police alerted local authorities about the recovery of a mangled body near the tracks near Bidadi. The decreased was identified as Ramanjinappa through his Aadhaar card and ATM card. Piecing together the sequence of events, police concluded that the accused murdered Saroja and later died by suicide while attempting to escape. A case of murder and suicide has been registered, and further investigation is underway.show more

The accused are a couple who had joined the house as domestic workers just 20 days earlier, police said. The robbery took place on January 25, when no family members were present at the house. Shivakumar was on a foreign trip to the Philippines with friends, while his wife, son, and daughter-in-law had gone to a relative’s house. When the family returned, they found the lockers broken and valuables missing, bringing the crime to light. Police identified the accused as Dinesh and Kamala, a couple who had joined the household recently. Kamala worked as a house help, while Dinesh was employed as a security guard. Within a short span of 20 days, they gained the family’s trust by efficiently handling all assigned duties. Before their arrival, another couple, Vikas and Maya, who had worked at the house for nine months, had expressed their intention to leave for their native place. Shivakumar had asked them to arrange replacements before leaving, following which Dinesh and Kamala were hired. According to police, Kamala deliberately took the other house help outside on the pretext of going out. As soon as they left, Dinesh became active and reportedly called five to six accomplices to the house. The gang first switched off the UPS system and then broke open lockers located in bedrooms on the ground floor and first floor. The accused fled with 11.5 kg of gold, diamond jewellery, 5 kg of silver, and ₹11.5 lakh in cash, amounting to a total value of ₹18 crore. Police suspect the involvement of a Nepali gang, indicating that the crime was carried out with careful planning. The Bengaluru city police in a joint operation with... Puducherry police arrested techie J Kenneth, accused of murdering the parents and sister of his girlfriend Shwetha. Kenneth was spotted by Puducherry police when he was drinking at a wine shop, and on seeing the cops, Kenneth started running. Chasing him for over 200 meters, ASI Ramalingam from Puducherry police department, succeeded in nabbing Kenneth. However, Ramalingam and few other cops were injured as Kenneth assaulted them. From the same place, cops had arrested Shwetha two days back. Both had fled the city after stabbing Shwetha's parents and sister Supriya to death inside the flat of an apartment in Seegehalli, KR Puram. Shwetha is in seven-day-police custody. Police will produce Kenneth before the judge at latter's home-office in National Games Village, Koramangala by evening. The victims were identified as Somasundar (52), his wife Muthulakshmi (48), and their 19-year-old daughter Supriya. According to police, the accused allegedly carried out the murders following a dispute that escalated over financial issues linked to Shwetha's unpaid bank loans, which had reportedly crossed Rs 30 lakh. Investigators believe the financial burden, along with the couple's strained circumstances, played a key role in the incident. Police said Shwetha and Kenneth, both engineering graduates and former classmates, had been in a live-in relationship for over a year, which they had kept hidden from their families. The relationship came under strain after bank recovery notices related to Shwetha's loans began reaching her family's residence in Marathahalli. In the days leading up to the incident, Shwetha's mother reportedly visited the couple's apartment after receiving the notices, followed by her father and younger sister. Police said an argument broke out over the loan issue, which soon escalated into violence inside the apartment. Neighbours reported hearing screams around 10 pm on the night of the incident, after which Somasundar was found bleeding on the staircase. Following the killings, Shwetha allegedly fled the scene, prompting a massive manhunt that led to her arrest earlier. Traffic got jammed in all directions . Seeing the situation and the hooliganism , extra forces were rushed and a lathi charge done to disperse the unruly crowd.From a police officer’s perspective, this unannounced celebrations on the streets by large gatherings are a big danger to public safety and may lead to exactly what we saw in Bengaluru. What if there were some deaths in Hyderabad too ? Can anyone expect celebrations for RCB in Hyderabad city ! A 19-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by... her father during a counselling session in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district after she insisted on living with a man she had married against her family's wishes, police said. The shocking incident took place in the Badousa police station area on Thursday and has triggered widespread outrage across the district. According to police, the woman had been in a relationship with a young man from her neighbourhood. On May 18, she left home with him, prompting her family to file a complaint. A case was subsequently registered and police launched a search operation to trace her. Banda Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal said the woman was found safe on June 12 and brought back as part of the legal process. Her parents were informed and were called for discussions and counselling with police officials. During the interaction, the woman reportedly maintained that she wanted to stay with her husband. Police said she had married the man after leaving home and was unwilling to return to her family despite repeated attempts by relatives and officials to persuade her otherwise. According to investigators, tensions escalated during the counselling session when her father suddenly attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon, stabbing her in the abdomen. The injured woman was rushed to the Atarra Community Health Centre and later referred to a medical college for advanced treatment. However, doctors declared her dead. SP Bansal said that based on a complaint lodged by the victim's mother, police registered a murder case against the woman's father. The accused has been taken into custody and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. "The woman had been safely recovered and her family was informed. During counselling and discussions with her parents, her father attacked her with a sharp weapon. A case has been registered and the accused has been detained. Further legal proceedings are underway," the SP said. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and initiated further investigation into the case. The incident has drawn attention across Banda, with many describing it as a suspected case of honour killing. [ONE KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED BY A MOB IN... A STOCKTHEFT RELATED INCIDENT] Police at Verena are investigating a stock theft related incident whereby two male persons were reportedly cornered and assaulted by an unidentified group of people after being reportedly found with livestock believed to have been stolen. One of the alleged suspects died whilst the other one sustained some injuries. The incident occurred in Verena on Wednesday, 24 December 2024. According to a report, Police as well Medical Emergency Services were called to the scene, and it was during this period when one of the men was pronounced dead, while the other was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is currently hospitalized under Police guard. The incident is believed to be linked to stocktheft incident, where 26 cattle, six goats, and a donkey were reportedly stolen from a certain farm in Verena. The Police investigation indicates that a shepherd was attacked earlier that day then robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. Thereafter, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene in two bakkies with trailers when their vehicles got stuck in the mud, leading to their capture and attack by the mob. Custodial death of an 18 year old Irfan in... Karachi . Irfan who belonged to Ahmedpur Sharqia had recently come to Karachi to live with his uncle after being affected by the disastrous flood. On the morning of 11:30am on 22nd October he along with three of his relatives Kamran, Salman and Nasir were abducted from the roadside by Police Officials of SIU/CIA who registered no case, did not cause any formal arrest and subject the youth to torture resulting in his death after which they left his body at JPMC. The families got a call from police on the night of 23rd Oct to come and collect the three boys. The Police trying to cover their steps registered a bogus and illegal FIR under the wrong provisions of law through SHO SIU/CIA as Sadr PS under Section 319 PPC which relates to Qatl-e-khata and is a bailable offence. This is a case of murder under Section 302 PPC punishable under Section 9 of the Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act 2022 which mandates tries all guilty police officials including all aiders and abettors. The family after protesting for 5 days in Karachi have left for Ahmedpur Sharqia for Irfan's burial. They were not involved during the Post mortem of the body and have not been provided any report as yet. Under the Custodial Torture law any and all investigating is exclusive mandate of FIA under the supervision of National Commission of Human Rights. The high ups of Sindh Police in order to appease the media have suspended some of the officials involved in the incident but even they are aware that a faulty FIR has been registered and proper proceedings are not taking place. We demand that National Commission for Human Rights takes immediate notice of this incident and a Complaint be registered with FIA without further delay, the police official be arrested and proper investigation be launched against Irfan's custodial death and without wasting any time the testimony of Salman, Kamran and Nasir be preserved by recording their statements under Section 164 Cr.P.C before magistrate. #JusticeForIrfanshow more
