#CountryDuty Here’s the NPA spokesperson on the impact on the #CatMatlala withdrawal of his participation in the #IDAC / NPA Deal NPA can’t use anything that was contained in that plea. NPA says it knows it has strong evidence against him. Matlala will be then be co-joined in the main matter in September 2026

#CatMatlala Alleged crime kingpin Vusimusi "Cat" Matlala will be sentenced today in the controversial 228 million rand Medicare 24/SAPS contract. Matlala had pleaded guilty to all the charges he was facing of fraud, corruption, and money laundering. He has also turned state witness and provided in an affidavit to investigators the names of higher profile SAPS officials allegedly involved in the deal. Also BREAKING.... Brigadier Rachel Matjeng who is also one of the accused in the matter has been dismissed by SAPS. The dismissal follows the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process in which Matjeng was found guilty on multiple counts of serious misconduct arising from her relationship with Matlala. The court has previously heard she was paid R300 000. #sabcnews
