Restoration work will follow as soon as the fire is extinguished. #CityPowerUpdates #CityPowerOutages #RoodepoortSDC Manufacta, Penny Street Substation (Lindhaven, Witpoortjie, Groblerpark, Westgate Princess and surrounds): For the third time in less than a month, the developer building residential flats in the vicinity has damaged the 33kV cable. According to the wayleaf signed, the developer is not allowed to use a TLB (excavator) to dig as this is going to damage various cables. The agreement is that digging is to be done by manual labour. The first time this cable was damaged, operators managed to backfeed supply but this is now not possible. Last week, the same cable was damaged and it took four days to resolve the outage. While we understand that the community needs services and accommodation, we appeal to the councilors and community leaders to address this concern with the developer. Our team will work swiftly to restore supply but we need you, our valued customers to help us safeguard our electricity infrastructure. Please note that the 33kV cable is unique and has to be ordered. As a result of this, there is no estimated time for restoration. ^TM

#CityPowerUpdates #OutageUpdates The Strubensvalley/ Wilgeheuwel project continues after it was temporarily stopped and workers were requested to assist the Roodepoort SDC with the relocation of mechanical workshop SWS into central substation, workers are continuing with trenching today.^RM
