#clemson

This theatrical overreaction on this one play literally sums up everything I've loathed about phony-ass #DaboSwinney since he started winning big at #Clemson. Aside from his whole bullshit, good-guy, we-do-it-the-right-way fraudulent energy he's exuded—while using street agents and dropping bags to land top talent in the pre-NIL era—his reaction to getting stuffed on this trick-play fourth down that Chase Smith (9) and Miami Hurricanes Football sniffed out—just another layer of groveling from a guy who has been so overly-theatrical—even in an era where everything was going his way. Swinney and this reaction like it was anything but a trick play getting blown up and a tip-of-the-cap to Miami’s linebacker not falling for it—instead he’s over there trying to play it off like something went wrong, some flag should’ve been tossed or a whistle blown to stop the play. No, bozo—you got-got and payback is a bitch—as this was for 58-0 (2015), 38-3 (2017 ACC Championship), 42-17 (2020) and that late-punch in score with thirty seconds left to roll #Miami, 40-10 (2022) the last time the #Canes were in Death Valley. This is the same energy from a guy who said in a presser, “If they want me gone, they're tired of winning, they can send me on the way, because that's all we've done is win”—after a 1-2 start in 2025, en route to 7-6. There was also the whole "We built this program on NIL. We really did, and it’s probably different than what you’re thinking, though. We built this program in God’s name, image, and likeness. And that’s how I look at it”—as if other head coaches who use the transfer portal are lessers, aren’t good Christians or aren’t God-fearing men? Can’t just admit that Clemson didn’t have the financial funds for a $40-million roster like some other programs—just like he can’t own that his trick play blew up in his face by a linebacker who didn’t take the bait. It was easier to tolerate Swinney when Clemson hadn’t won big and he was the hunter trying to take down Alabama; as the hunted, he became smug and annoying—and how that the Tigers are backsliding, he’s simply insufferable. My 2015 self who suffered through 58-0 many moons ago; I’d love to go back and tell him how cold that revenge dish would be served on October 3rd, 2026. Respect to those kids on Clemson’s squad for a hard-fought game, but the better team won big—and the better, more-authentic and solid head coach went 1-0 this week.
