The United #Arab #Emirates has established a new force in #Puntland called the #QRF (Quick Response Forces), which is similar in concept to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) or emergency response units. Both the #QRF and #RSF share similar objectives and structures, as they are rapid deployment units designed to respond swiftly to security situations. However, there are growing concerns that they operate as mercenary-style forces not directly accountable to any legitimate government authority. Puntland now appears to be heading down the same path that Sudan once took.
