The Voragine crater, the highest point of #Etna (3400 m), has erupted spectacularly between 5 and 7 July 2026, sending ash south, paralyzing air traffic in Catania, and a lava flow into the nearby Northeast Crater. Video taken on the evening of 6 July. Activity ceased on 7 July
