The #FeesMustFall spark in South Africa showed what’s possible, yet tribalism and elite capture derailed its progress. There’s a world of difference between the spirit of young Africans in the 20th century and now. Africa presently has the potential in its youthful population to change this trajectory, but to make that happen, Africa’s young people need to discover and reclaim their power as their predecessors once did.
