#HS2 engineers have completed Curzon 2, the tallest bridge on the new high-speed network, and shortly we’ll be launching it over the Cross City railway line just outside #Birmingham city centre. Curzon 2 is part of the Curzon approaches, a network of five viaducts forming the final mile into HS2's Curzon Street Station. The 4,200 tonne bridge will reach its final position on 5th June creating a stunning new addition to the Birmingham skyline.🌉

We've started tunnelling to #Euston 👍 The first of two tunnel boring machines building the HS2 route to Euston has begun it's 4.5-mile journey from Old Oak Common. Bringing #HS2 into Euston is critical for the regeneration of the area, with the potential to contribute £41 billion to the #UK economy. This TBM launch comes as HS2 is at an advanced stage of the reset. This week the B4525 road was realigned to clear space for the next space of excavations for the 2.7km #Greatworth Green Tunnel - the longest green tunnel on the #HS2🚄 route. The tunnel is being built inside a shallow cutting near Greatworth, West #Northamptonshire, using a ‘cut-and-cover’ technique, with the earth put back on top afterwards. This helps to blend the railway into the landscape 🌳. Find out more:
