The #globalleft keeps falling into #imperialpaternalism—talking like #Iranians don’t understand politics, like we have zero judgment and need Western “experts” to explain reality to us. That’s not solidarity. That’s the #colonialgaze in a progressive costume. We’re not unaware that #Israel is acting in its own interest. We’re not unaware the U.S. doesn’t attack countries for the people living there. We know how power works. We’ve lived inside those power games for decades. What this really shows is your privilege. You get to debate “what’s morally right” from safety. Iranians are making impossible choices under a regime that murders its own people. Don’t speak over us like you know better.
