Abu Dhabi is in the loop. Irro has already issued threats regarding action in #Sool, further escalating an already fragile situation. While it’s true that some in #Sanaag express support for #Puntland, the decision to resort to military force is deeply counterproductive. Deni’s actions reflect a dangerous pattern, one that prioritises undermining the Federal Government above preserving #Somalia’s unity. What transpired in #Dhahar is unacceptable. The reported escalation & further PMPF deployments only reaffirm that Deni is committed to using force as a means to impose his will. Let it be clear: Even if President Hassan Sheikh is playing politics in #Laascaanood, a fair criticism that many Somalis have voiced, it doesn’t justify Deni launching armed campaigns in Sanaag. Responding to politics with military aggression only deepens division and invites long-term instability in a country already destroyed by war. This is not leadership. It is a reckless pursuit of power, driven by regional rivalries and foreign interests, and it comes at the cost of unity.
