Btw I'm working on window blur in niri! Both xray and regular. Xray always "shows through" to the background. This allows it to be very efficient: compute blurred texture only once, then just draw that texture (very cheap). Not a single blur recomputation in this video! #niri

Niri can block windows from screencasts. This must work with all other features including background blur. What if a surface *inside* the blur is blocked out? It gets extra tricky with open/close animations where you can set a custom shader, but I think I made it work! #niri
