The story started before Josef Aoun became president, and court order dismissed in March 2025. A powerful contractor is building an investment project that includes an officers' club and a group of restaurants, cafes, and retail stores for the #Ministry of #Defense on state-owned private properties in the city, located adjacent to the #Tyre_Nature_Reserve. Work has already begun on the project, with vegetation removal and sand extraction in part of the site since last September, just before the escalation of the Israeli war, which temporarily halted operations. With the ceasefire, work quickly resumed at an accelerated pace and continues to this day, despite a decision issued on March 13, 2025, by the urgent matters judge in Tyre, Yola Azimi, to halt all ongoing work on a group of properties in the Shawakir area adjacent to Tyre Beach and its nature reserve. Recently, the Ministry of Defense awarded the project contract to the contracting company "SIS" owned by Salwan Salini under a “Build, Operate, Transfer” (BOT) framework. 🚨🚨🚨Sources leaked details on a tender, which is an under-the-table, and took place between “SIS” and "#TAJCO," owned by the Tajeddine family, which has several #suspicions surrounding it. The “SIS” company won the bid and will be responsible for building and managing the project for 28 years before handing it back to the #army's administration. Notably, when representatives from the contracting company and army leadership visited the #municipality of #Tyre to inform them about the project being implemented, #Ali_Jaber, in law of #Hassan #Tajeddine, was among those present, reinforcing the belief that there is some arrangement between the two companies.
