DARPA #OpFires developed and demonstrated a novel ground-launched system focused on enabling a hypersonic boost glide weapons to penetrate modern enemy air defenses and rapidly and precisely engage critical time sensitive targets. The novel multi-stage propulsion concept and launcher system was developed and validated during the initial phases in just 26 months culminating in a 2022 flight test. The #Hypersonic glide body, intended as one of its payloads, is entering production for the USAF's AGM-183A #ARRW.
