She didn’t know yet, but with this now iconic transformation, #UsagiTsukino aka #Serena wasn’t just transforming herself into #SailorMoon for the first time, but also transforming pop culture forever. 34 years ago, On this very MAR 07, #PrettyGuardianSailorMoon debuted the first out of 200 TV episodes in #Japan (Series Premiere with a self explanatory title THE CRYBABY: USAGI’s BEAUTIFUL TRANSFORMATION by the way) and across 5 Seasons from 1992 until its end in 1997, #SailorMoon reshaped the anime landscape locally, repositioned the shojo magical girls as a driving force and export powerhouse as much as their shonen anime counterparts, demonstrated that girls could also be a major demo for anime as much as the boys, and became a global phenomenon which expanded towards the Americas and Europe in such a mainstream impactful way only seen prior to it with #DragonBall, with an influence across all media which still endures to this day.
