#Sudan | A spokesperson for the UAE-backed terrorist #RSF militia admitted in an interview with Al Jazeera that Sudanese journalist Muammar Ibrahim is being held in one of the militia’s detention facilities, claiming that he is affiliated with the army. The statement contradicts the militia’s earlier claims that it intended to release Ibrahim after completing preliminary investigations, following his abduction from the city of El Fasher. The spokesperson further stated that a journalist does not necessarily have to carry a weapon, arguing that “the pen fights, and opinion fights as well.” The remark has been viewed as a dangerous admission of the militia’s hostile attitude toward journalism, and its treatment of free expression and professional reporting as grounds for repression and targeting.
