The Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (#SCOPA), Songezo Zibi, explains that the committee is currently attending a two-day workshop at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (#SAICA) in Cape Town. The training aims to enhance their understanding of financial statements to improve and strengthen oversight of municipalities, government departments, and commercial entities. After this workshop, the committee will be better equipped to engage with the Auditor-General regarding the quality of information needed to exercise oversight effectively.
