Suhas Shetty, a prime accused in a murder case and a #Hindutva group member, was brutally attacked and killed by a group of men near #KinnipadavuCross in #Karnataka’s #Mangaluru on Thursday night. The incident took place around 8:27 PM, when #SuhasShetty was travelling in a vehicle with five others—Sanjay, Prajwal, Anvith, Latheesh, and Shashank—before their car was intercepted by a group of five to six assailants in a Swift car and a pickup truck. The attackers reportedly dragged Shetty out and assaulted him with swords and other sharp weapons. The brutal assault was caught on video and widely circulated on social media. Eyewitnesses has confirmed the nature of the attack. Shetty was rushed to AJ Hospital in Mangaluru, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Shetty had five criminal cases registered against him in Mangaluru city and #DakshinaKannada district police limits. He was the main accused in the murder of 23-year-old #MohammedFazil, a resident of #Mangalpete near #Surathkal. Fazil was killed in front of a shop in Surathkal on 28 July 2022, just two days after the murder of #BJPYuvaMorcha worker #PraveenNettaru in #Bellare, #Sullia—an incident that had triggered widespread outrage. The Mangaluru City Police have confirmed the incident and said that a case is being registered at Bajpe Police Station. Multiple teams have been formed and deployed to track down and arrest the of assailants as soon as possible.
