#terenaam

Watching #TereNaam. Couldn't have missed the chance to watch this ICONIC movie in a cinema hall again. Watched it as a kid on August 15, 2003 and will never forget the hysteria inside & outside the cinema hall. The crowd roared when #SalmanKhan roared... and by the end everyone's eyes were moist. Have so many stories of old friends from Tier B cities of Rajasthan. How people lined up for kilometres outside the cinema halls to buy tickets while sporting his "famous" hairstyle. Gen Z can never imagine the euphoria & cultural impact of this movie in the small towns of the Hindi heartland. I saw so many people in different cities not only emulating his hairstyle but his mannerisms & dialogues as well. And 'Tere Naam' came after the lowest phase of Salman Khan's personal life. Public & bitter break-up with #AishwaryaRai, Hit-and-Run case, baseless allegations of #VivekOberoi. He received absolutely terrible press. Media and industry WROTE HIM OFF. I think he channelised all his suppressed anger & pain in his work. That's why his performance in Tere Naam looks so lived-in. One sees anger as well as pain in his portrayal of #Radhe.... which kinda symbolized what was happening in his personal life. This will always be an ETERNALLY CULT movie.
