On this #WorldOceanDay we must pause and hear the deep cries echoing from the bottom of our oceans,not silent anymore, but rising in revolt against the choking grip of pollution. Oceans cover 75% of Earth, hold 97% of its water, absorb 23% of CO₂, and support over 50% of global biodiversity yet they being dumped with trash around the world. In Tamil Nadu we are on a mission to to do our best to restore degraded islands, seagrass meadows, corals and mangroves which in turn will protect highly endangered Dugongs, Seahorses,Turtles and millions of other species. So far we have restored 18 acres of seagrass beds, 8 acres of corals including Kasuvar Island, planted 2403 Ha of new Mangroves and restored 1207 Ha of degraded Mangroves. Restoration of Vaan and Kariyachalli islands is underway. Fishnet initiative is helping to prevent discarded fishing nets from entering the Ocean. Lets Save,Conserve and Protect our beautiful oceans which are our lifeline. #WorldOceansDay #TNForest video - Branching Corals in Kariyachalli and Kasavur Island
