Why do people keep thinking that there will be elections in 2026? He told his supporters that they only needed to vote for gim 1 more time in 2024. Then they won't have to vote again. He boasted that he had enough votes. He basted about rigging the election.

I think folks that have lived through wars like those in Europe or corruption/death as some have live through in Latin America due to terrorism, understand the importance of making preliminary plans. My family is also giving each other through 2026 before we also make decisions.

I did leave, but only for the inauguration. I'm planning on going back next month because I want my 87 year-old father to have me around. But I'm also preparing for the possibility of having to seek asylum. I've studied history enough to know to be prepared for the worst.

The issue remains whether our votes will count in 2026, or not. Idk if that’s a good indicator of how the public feels about Trump. As a pessimist myself, this msg seems too optimistic.

Some good thoughts. I plan to be in Mexico by the end of the year, largely due to personal circumstances but the election was a breaking point for me where suddenly the idea of leaving became very real. I'd always thought I'd stay here basically no matter what.
