I think what stuck out to me the most was all of that combined with ten overseas service bars. Fucking 10. Man has spent a quarter of his career in combat and is stacked, and we're JUST hearing about him, and he doesn't even look like he wants the recognition. Imagine the shit he's done that he can't or won't talk about, because he doesn't want to sound like he's gloating.

Senate goes to dog shows. Warriors go to the sound of the guns! Former are cowards. The latter well..they do THEIR job and do it well. With no kickbacks!

For a combat veteran. Retirement will be more like a punishment. I pray they him a job that will keep him involved with the military.

Much respect to Chief Stover but I don't think finding a "quiet, peaceful corner of the world to live out the rest of his life" would be very satisfying to a lifelong warrior. I don't know but seems to me that service is in his blood and will be to his last breath.

@EyesLikeAlice It so true I’ve earn many of these medals during my military career but I don’t talk about them at all to very many unless asked. I never expected any of them either for my service sacrifices and risk to self.

He earned it all. A true American Hero. Never forget what he did for every last one of us Americans. We sleep under the security of Strong men like him who sacrifice can’t be told just through Awards but through the aspirations and dedication to his Country. According to the citation background, his DSC was upgraded to MoH. He wore it to the ceremony because those were his awards at that time. The next time we see his cabbage the DSC will be gone and the light blue ribbon full of stars will be on top.

God bless him!! My Dad was a hero and flew as a Forward Air Commander in Viet Nam and directed fire in a close quarters situation and obliterated the enemy that was surrounding our guys on the ground. He got a Silver Star for that on top of 3 Bronze Stars... great man
