Ha ha, so true! I’m Gen X. Only once did I hear a kid say “shut up” to a teacher. He was a ginormous basketball player. The teacher was a tiny older Black lady with one leg that didn’t function properly. She came out of that chair like a bull and beat him (I can’t remember with what) all the way out of his desk and into the hallway. We were too scared to move. But you could hear her screaming until she reached the principal’s office. When she came back in, she carried on as if nothing had happened!

I'm genX, so my teachers were boomers. In high school we had two teachers that would throw down and fist fight those bad ass kids. Like these dudes were vets and gave 0 fuqs. They never got in trouble for it and they were beloved by their students, even by the ones whose asses they whooped.

Accurate. I’m a GenX teacher, and I feel this in my soul. I once had a parent walk in for a conference - we went to high school together. The kid knew he was toast or had a new auntie - his choice.

The paddles at the principals office had holes so it moved faster hitting or asses. In 8thgrade I used them back on him and got cops called. Fucking pussy.
