/ I explored the Kevin Rose hack using Once Upon (old account) and uncovered some more information about the hack, the hackers, and additional victims who were affected. Here’s a video explaining what happened (and a thread with screenshots below):

/ Going into Kevin’s hacked account, we see the transaction that drained his NFTs occurred at 1:34pm ET. The transaction was executed from this account, labeled Hacker Account 1 (stay tuned, we’ll come back to this account later).

/ In order for these NFTs to have moved from his account, Kevin would have had to give approval to OpenSea to move those assets (setApprovalForAll). The hack occurred at 1:34pm, and we can see that only 17 minutes before, Kevin begins giving access to OpenSea for multiple NFTs:

/ Kevin mentioned doing this because he was listing a bunch of NFTs on OpenSea. He gives access to various NFTs up until 1:31pm, even successfully selling his OnChainMonkey in the process. The next transaction we see after Kevin’s final access approval is the exploit.

/ When we look at the Net Asset Transfers in this transaction we can see exactly what was stolen, including the 0.590 WETH Kevin had just made on his OnChainMonkey sale 4 minutes earlier, because he had also approved OpenSea access to his WETH:

/ It’s worth noting that Kevin’s Admit One was stolen, even though he hadn’t given access to that NFT recently. When we go to Kevin’s account page & filter for transactions including Admit One, we see it was stolen due to a transaction dating back to August 27th:

/ Now, let’s dive into the hacker account we’ve labeled Hacker Account 1. Here the hacker executes the same exploit used on Kevin (marked by the matchOrders call) on multiple other victims, dating all the way back to January 3rd:

/ How much was stolen in these exploits? Quite a lot… 75 WETH in one place, a @MattKaneArtist Gazers NFT (28.9 ETH floor) in another.

/ We also see a few ENS permits made by the hacker, which becomes another interesting rabbit hole. It seems that in these instances, the victim is signing a message that then allows Hacker Account 1 to set a “spender” for the victim (who owns ENS tokens). Stay with me…

/ One person affected by this exploit is @NatDotEth, who tweeted about the incident on January 10th:

/ The account page for @NatDotEth (labeled ENS Hacked 1) shows she was hacked on January 9th via the exploit we found. It seems she signed a message that then allows Hacker Account 1 to execute a transaction that gives Hacker Account 3, a contract, access to her ENS tokens:

/ The above screenshot shows permit being called, then the Hacker Account 3 smart contract transferring 403.290 ENS tokens to Hacker Account 2. This exploit was executed a few times, where numerous victims mistakenly gave access to their ENS tokens by signing a message.

/ I feel terrible for @kevinrose and all the other victims of this hack. I’m hoping that these conversations around what happened (and why) will lead to features and products that provide more security for users going forward.

/ Huge thank you to @gaby_goldberg who played a major role in this investigation.

@kevinrose @onceupongg Great thread and what unfortunate timing from KRO to approve those 17 minutes before the malicious signature

"Fleet Street did their best to ignore the story.” — in The Hack This line isn’t fiction. It’s a direct indictment of the real-world media culture that allowed industrial-scale criminality, phone hacking, surveillance, harassment, to thrive inside Britain’s most powerful newspapers. ITV’s The Hack dramatises one of the darkest chapters in UK media history: the systemic abuse of victims by national newspapers, and the total failure of the press to report on its own wrongdoing. Victims were not just ignored — they were smeared, intimidated, and silenced. Those who dared to speak out were met with denial, cover-ups, and more abuse. What makes this moment all the more damning? Even now, with the exception of The Guardian, The I and a few others, much of the national press is refusing to acknowledge the show. There has been a near-total blackout in coverage: no front pages, few in-depth reviews, little meaningful commentary, on a drama that reveals the criminal methods and moral rot at the heart of powerful media empires. Why? Because The Hack tells the truth. About illegal phone hacking. About the lies told to Parliament. About the deletion of evidence. About the way press executives perverted justice — and got away with it. The media won't hold itself accountable. It's up to all of us to demand truth, transparency, and justice — for the victims, and for the future of our democracy. #TheHack #DavidTennant #PhoneHacking #PressAbuse #MediaCorruption #Leveson #JusticeForVictims #Hackgate #HackedOff #PressReform #FleetStreetSilence

🚨 PROOF: The World Isn’t Moving On. This HACK Just Changed Everything— Thousands of Patients JUST Became "Charlie Kirk."🖥️🕵️‍♂️ If you thought the movement demanding the truth about Charlie Kirk’s assassination was just a localized effort, think again. The entire world is watching, and someone just dropped a massive, undeniable signal. A major medical platform in New Zealand just suffered a catastrophic cyber hack—and the hackers didn't demand a ransom. Instead, they sent a message. Here is what just happened: 💻 The "Charlie Kirk" Cyber Hack Hackers breached MediMap, a massive real-time electronic charting system used by the aged care, disability, and hospice sectors across New Zealand. Once inside, they completely wiped the database and changed the names and dates of birth of the patients to exactly one person: Charlie Kirk. Other patients were systematically labeled as "dead." The establishment media is brushing this off as just a "random" cybersecurity breach, but we all know the truth about whats really happened here and they are sending a message that we are all Charlie Kirk and the world is watching. The hack was so severe that it forced the entire network to completely shut down and revert to inefficient, manual paper charting. It caused such a massive systemic meltdown that New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Deputy PM David Seymour had to issue public statements freaking out about their national cyber security laws. 👁️ The Real Takeaway Hackers could have changed those names to literally anything. They could have used the hack for financial extortion. But they didn't. They used a massive international database breach to flash Charlie Kirk's name across government and medical screens in a completely different hemisphere. This wasn't just a hack; it was a digital monument. It's a glaring reminder to the establishment, to TPUSA, and to the people who covered up his death: You cannot erase him. The world knows what you did, and the ghosts are in the machine. What do you guys think? Is this a white-hat hacker group sending a signal, or just absolute digital chaos? Let me know in the comments. 👇
