007 First Light genuinely has the most intuitive and well done training montage i’ve experienced in a Game Snappy, fun, and gives you all the knowledge without overstaying it’s welcome. Felt like a literal Movie.

this part was absolutely fire. at first you're like "oh god here we go time for the game to suck" and then it's all gas no brakes.

Literally. I mean i find all of the game fun but i was ready for 4 sections of this thing and 3 sections of that but the way they just quickly introduced you to all these things like a movie would is so effective.

yeah i think the tutorializing still could've been shorter but it's clear they were having some fun with the format and i can't get mad at that.

The training montage and the intro to Q’s lab were both awesome! Spent 10 minutes just walking around eavesdropping on the conversation between scientists and trying out the random gadgets. It’s very charming so far

The best thing about this montage for me is that it doesn't treat Bond like a child. Instead of "hold down this button to aim, press this one to shoot" it reframe the training as quick test that he must pass. Functionally still the same basic tutorial, but dress up nicely

This was so awesome. I was trying to not compare it to like the movies but this felt straight out of one but so fun.

I loved playing this part, amazing how they loaded it all from one scene to another. Great stuff and a technical achievement.

I have a soft spot for games that put you through a training montage like a film. :)

Have you played hitman 3/world of assassination? I'm curious how the gameplay feels compared to that.

i’ve probably put in like 150+ hours into the 3 games yeah. I’m not in the mix enough to say overall how the game feels but the world is the most similar thing about hitman i’d say, just the structure of it all. Gameplay wise is VERY james bond it’s not just a hitman skin

Sick i love those games, my only concern going into it was how fluid the combat would be cause, to me at least, that was the clunkiest part of the hitman games. cant wait to start playing 007 though

Every game needs to consider this when making a tutorial. Not saying they all need to be montages but find a way to make them engaging.

How does the combat feel?

very in your control and snappy. It’s exciting to jump into and it really does play like a mix of arkham and uncharted i guess. Very happy with it

Agree, just finished this and thought it was a brilliant way to implement a tutorial.

Look they painted the ledge blue so you know where to grab. Modern games are so ass its insane.
