How Does Plume Network turn Real-World Assets Into Crypto Tokens? Plume (Plume) is a blockchain focused on bringing real-world assets, or RWAs, onchain and making them easier to use across crypto markets. The network creates infrastructure that allows assets such as private credit, real estate, commodities, and other financial products to be represented as blockchain-based tokens. But how does that process actually work? (1) First, an asset needs to be brought onchain. Plume provides infrastructure for issuers to tokenize real-world assets, creating digital representations that can be tracked and transferred on the blockchain. Its tokenization engine, Arc, gives issuers standard templates and built-in compliance checks. (2) The underlying asset still exists outside the blockchain. Tokenization does not automatically turn a property, loan, or other asset into a purely digital asset. Instead, the blockchain token represents rights or claims connected to the underlying asset. (3) Plume also focuses on compliance and asset management. Its ecosystem includes tools designed to help issuers handle onboarding, compliance requirements, asset servicing, and other processes needed to bring RWAs into blockchain markets. In October 2025, Plume registered with the SEC as a transfer agent, so it can keep official ownership records for tokenized securities onchain. (4) Once tokenized, these assets can interact with onchain applications. This can allow tokenized assets to become usable across lending, trading, yield products, and other decentralized financial applications. Nest, Plume's yield protocol, is one example. (5) Plume also uses permissioned structures where required. For assets with legal or investor restrictions, issuers can control which users are allowed to access them.
