This rally is being driven by forced buying. Hedgies were short. CTAs are being forced back in. It’s not people buying because they want to. It’s buying because they’re forced to. If the news flow deteriorates, the same people will have to sell it again. So the question is what happens when the flow stops. You’re not only trading market direction but instead this is more trading positioning. This is not where you want to be short gamma. I see it as: Deal gets done: market keeps ripping. Deal fails: market sells off. Supportive flows are fading. Event risk is rising. Do I want to be running short gamma into the weekend with Monday's straddle priced at less than 1%. Probably not. This is exposure to uncertainty, not a view.

The mistake most traders make, and Mike Novogratz has made it myself more times than he’d like to admit, is losing patience waiting for the right entry point. 👇🏼 Trading is all about the entry point. If you’re patient enough to wait for it, you’re never really in that much pain. You know where you got in. You know where your stop loss is. You can breathe. But if you impulsively buy before it’s ready? It starts going down. You get nervous. You start sweating. Then you end up selling at the exact price you told yourself six months ago you were going to buy at. That’s the trap. Every time. I had a trader out here on crypto. Conviction without execution is just commentary. And we’re not in a bear market in equities yet. There’s a long way to go before you start buying the destruction. Be patient. Wait for your entry. The first step to profitable trading is entering at an institutional zone. This is exactly where institutional money placed large buy or sell orders. Without this, you're trading levels that have no real orders behind them. So here's how I find them. Step #1: Find a swing low where price dipped below a previous low and snapped back up sharply That V-shaped reaction with big momentum candles is the footprint. Institutions just swept the liquidity and loaded up. Step #2: Check if that zone led to a break of structure. Price swept the low, bounced, then took out the previous swing high. That confirms institutions drove the move. Step #3: Make sure the zone is unmitigated If price has already returned to it once, the orders are weaker. Fresh zones hold better. The candle that swept the liquidity becomes your zone. Draw a box around it. That's your institutional zone.
