I’m still haunted by the Philando Castile murder. He was a cook at a DayCare/preschool & the kids loved him. My mostly blind son was kitchen staff at a DayCare in Evanston for several yrs. I told him how his work was important work & shared about Mr. Castile. I think of him often

I’ve never forgotten her words because she basically said if I can’t get Justice in this moment then none of us are free. And she was absolutely right. Reading Pretti’s parents’ statement depressed me but it’s a reality Black people know far too well and for far too long.
