Too many people are going to reply “No”, based on how they’ve been conditioned to catches being called, since this happened. Yes, it was a catch. Always was. Always will be.

He definitely caught it. They interpreted his reach for the goal line as a continuation of the catch process. So when the ground caused the fumble, they said he didn’t control it through the ground. But he had control, he was reaching for the endzone
