Our chequing account for kids and teens is now live 🎉 Years ago, I helped design Wealthsimple's very first chequing account. Getting to do it again for kids & teens has been some of the funnest work of my career! We built this account as a tool for parents to teach their kids how money really works. Designed to grow with your kid, you can give them their very own card to spend and have them earn interest on their savings! You can even top up their interest up to 100% with parent-paid interest, or pay a weekly / bi-weekly / monthly allowance to help them get to their goals faster. As a parent, you're also able to set up parental controls to limit spending, restrict certain categories and oversee your kid's activity with real-time spend notifications. I've already set one up for my nephew. He's saving for a Nintendo Switch. I can't wait to watch him tap his own card and see all that saving turn into something real ❤️

Plato said your soul comes from a star, and returns to it when you die. 🌟 This idea runs through almost 2,000 years of philosophy, and it keeps coming back to the same shape: the sphere. Before Plato, Parmenides described ultimate reality as a perfect sphere, balanced equally from the center in every direction. Empedocles believed that when the universe is fully united by Love, it becomes one single sphere. He called it the Sphairos. Then came Plato. In the Timaeus, the creator makes the universe a sphere, the most perfect of all shapes. It has no eyes, no ears, no hands, because nothing exists outside it to see or touch. It is a living being, complete in itself. The stars are made mostly of fire, round like the universe itself. Plato calls them visible gods. And here's the part almost nobody talks about: the creator assigns every soul to its own star. Live well, and after death your soul returns home to it. ✨ Even your head, Plato says, is round because it copies the shape of the cosmos. The part of you that holds the divine is shaped like an orb. In the Symposium, he tells another story. The first humans were round, with four arms, four legs and two faces. Why round? Because they came from the sun, the earth and the moon. Zeus split them in two, and we've been searching for our other half ever since. Cicero picked up the thread. In the Dream of Scipio, human souls come from the eternal fires we call stars, which are round, spherical and animated by divine minds. The virtuous, he wrote, return to the Milky Way. The later Platonists went even further. They taught that the soul travels inside a luminous vehicle, the augoeides, meaning "radiant" or "star-like." Iamblichus said this vehicle is spherical. Proclus said the soul descends in a perfectly spherical body of light, picking up layers of the four elements on its way down. Your physical body is just a coat worn over an orb of light. Over the centuries, this body of light picked up other names: the body of glory, the celestial body. If you read my last post about the glorified body, that should sound familiar. 👀 The idea never died. Around 1320, Dante writes the Paradiso. In the heaven of Saturn, he sees "a hundred little spheres." They were souls. 🌕

Some news: after four wonderful years at UC Berkeley Haas, I'm heading to Columbia Business School this fall as an assistant professor in the Decision, Risk, and Operations Division. I'm incredibly excited to be joining a division full of brilliant colleagues studying marketplace design, online platforms, business analytics, and data-driven decision-making -- topics that perfectly complement my own research. And I can't wait to re-embrace NYC life – pizza at all hours of the day, grimy music venues in Bushwick, and a robust public transit system! At the same time, I'm also sad to be leaving Berkeley. Haas has been the perfect place to launch my academic career. The brilliant colleagues, engaged students, and collaborative atmosphere here have helped me grow as both a researcher and teacher over the past four years. I'll also deeply miss the Bay Area's amazing nature and weather, as well as its unique blend of innovation and idealism. When I joined Haas, I announced it with a cameo from Chris Diamantopoulos (AKA Silicon Valley's Russ Hanneman). I considered doing the same now—maybe getting Eric Adams, Jalen Brunson or James Murphy for a proper NYC welcome—but the timing feels off. As excited as I am about my new job, this career move comes at a complex time when universities across the US, including Columbia, are navigating challenging tensions between government pressures and academic independence. I believe in the importance of maintaining both institutional autonomy and protecting all members of our academic communities. Despite the challenges at hand, I remain hopeful about Columbia's future and its enduring mission. As Columbia's motto reminds us, "in lumine tuo videbimus lumen" — "In your light we shall see light" — suggesting that through education and collective wisdom, we find illumination and a path forward. I'm excited to join this historic institution during a pivotal moment and to contribute to Columbia's long tradition of creating positive change through knowledge and research. See you in New York! 🗽

Our son's teacher used to call us weekly with complaints. Last Friday during his parent/teacher check-in, she asked what we did to transform him. The answer: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). It all started with him not being able to burn his additional energy. Our kid was and still is hyperactive, couldn't fall asleep before 12am/1am, fidgeted through every school lesson, constantly snappy with us and his teachers. Some of our friends were calling him the duracell bunny (in reference to the battery ad) and we were genuinely worried this was just who he was. We tried a few different sports as our idea was that he didn't have any activity that involved burning his energy. Football, swimming, running him around the park until dark. He'd come home exhausted but his mind would still be racing at bedtime. The energy was there, but nothing seemed to actually settle him. My brother has been training and coaching kids BJJ since he was young. He kept telling us to bring our son. Tbh, we were skeptical - how would a combat sport help a kid who already couldn't sit still? But we were desperate as school was getting worse and the nightly battles were exhausting everyone. So at 5 years old, we signed him up. The first 6 months, he started falling asleep faster and not just because he was tired (he'd been tired before), but because BJJ teaches you to control your body and your mind simultaneously. He was learning to actually settle himself. The 11pm bedtime battles turned into peaceful 9pm nights. But what really caught us off guard was the respect. Every single class - bow when you enter/when you leave, wait your turn, shake hands with your opponent, listen to your coach. It gets drilled in through pure repetition. Not lectures, not punishment..just practice. 100 times per class, every class, for years. His teachers also noticed the change. He could finally sit through lessons, pay attention, actually remember what was discussed. Homework became manageable because he'd developed the patience to learn. He was less snappy and more willing to listen. The hardest part were in the first couple of years as he wanted to quit constantly. The usual kids reasons - i'm tired of BJJ, I don't want to train anymore etc. There were nights we genuinely questioned if we were pushing him too hard, if we were doing the right thing. But we kept him going. My brother being his coach helped, but honestly it was just us trusting that something would click eventually. And then in year 4, it did. He found his training partner, made real friends at the gym. Suddenly he was asking when his next class was. Going to support his teammates at competitions even when he wasn't competing himself. This year, the transformation was complete. His teacher went from calling us weekly to pulling us aside asking what we did. The fidgety, unfocused kid who couldn't sit still was competing in tournaments, winning medals, excelling at school, and genuinely looking forward to training. Here's what we got wrong for years: we kept trying to calm him down. Turns out, he didn't need calming.. he needed somewhere to put that energy. Other sports just tired him out. BJJ gave him an outlet that required both physical exhaustion and mental focus. And here's the thing few people talk about: BJJ is teaching him to lose. Not avoid failure but to face it. He still gets frustrated sometimes, still has moments where the tears come after a tough roll or a competition loss. But he's getting better at it. He processes it faster now, gets back up quicker. Most kids' activities try to avoid failure or sugarcoat it. BJJ makes you face it every single class and there's no hiding from it. That resilience is slowly building, and it's showing up everywhere. Homework frustrations don't spiral like they used to. Mistakes are becoming learning opportunities instead of total meltdowns. And he's even getting better at maths due to his concentration levels improving. If your kid can't sit still, can't focus, struggles with sleep, and school is calling home weekly do give BJJ a shot before assuming it's just who they are. Not for the discipline but for the outlet. The discipline comes later. Here's my son at his last competition. That's the kid who couldn't sit still for 5 minutes.

🔊 CHURCH: THIS IS WHAT THE ENEMY DOESN'T WANT US TO DO TODAY!! He wants us distracted, discouraged, exhausted, and spiritually worn out because he knows that when God's people pray, God moves! Just as Abraham pleaded for Sodom, and Moses stood in the gap for Israel, let’s stand in the gap today for our family, friends, neighbors, and all who are still lost. This is where the battle is! We're living in the final seconds of the Age of Grace!! LET'S STAND IN THE GAP ONE MORE TIME WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME!!! Lord,🕊️ We come before You in the name of Jesus—not in our own wisdom or strength, but covered by the blood of the Lamb—we declare that You are the God who seeks and saves the lost, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and eternal life with You!!! 🔥So many today are walking toward this fire—unaware or unwilling to turn! 👉🏼This is where rebellion leads. This is where deception ends. This is where excuses are stripped away! 🔁Father, we stand in the gap now—while there is still breath, while mercy is still available, while repentance is still possible! 👉🏼We present before You our mothers and fathers, wives and husbands, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends, neighbors, and all who are deceived; all who are hardened; all who are wounded; all who are bound by sin, fear, pride, trauma, addictions, false beliefs, or false peace!!! ⚔️In the authority of Jesus Christ, we stand against every work of the enemy assigned against their souls. We ask You to bind every spirit of deception, confusion, blindness, rebellion, pride, unbelief, false doctrine, false religion, and false peace. 🪢Lord, silence every lie that exalts itself against the knowledge of God—every false identity and every argument raised against the truth! 💣Tear down every idol exalted above You: love of self, love of comfort, love of pleasure, love of money, love of the world, and every identity not rooted in Christ alone! Tear down every stronghold built in their minds: 👉🏼strongholds of trauma, 👉🏼strongholds of fear and anxiety, 👉🏼strongholds of shame, guilt, and condemnation, 👉🏼strongholds of bitterness, offense, resentment, and unforgiveness, 👉🏼strongholds of rebellion and stubbornness, 👉🏼strongholds of self-sufficiency and control, 👉🏼strongholds of hopelessness, despair, and fatalism. 💣Tear down every false belief formed through pain, loss, abuse, disappointment, or deception. 💥Break every agreement—knowingly or unknowingly—with lies spoken over them, lies they believed, and lies passed down generationally!! ❌Lord, cancel every repeating cycle of bondage, addiction, immorality, unbelief, broken relationships, and destruction! 💣Break the power of every fear—fear of surrender, fear of truth, fear of obedience, fear of rejection, fear of loss, and fear of DEATH! ⚔️Break every bond of addiction, lust, perversion, escapism, and hidden sin!!! ❌Cancel every word spoken over them that contradicts Your truth. ❌Cancel every generational pattern that keeps repeating destruction. ❌Cancel every demonic assignment sent to blind, deceive, delay, distract, or destroy them. 💥Destroy every resistance to the Holy Spirit—every quenched conviction, delayed obedience, and HARDENED HEART!!! Father, we ask that You would remove the veil from their eyes. 👉🏼Let scales fall. 👉🏼Let truth pierce through every layer of deception. 👉🏼Let hearts be softened where they have grown calloused. 🕊️Holy Spirit, we ask You to pursue them relentlessly, yet gently! ✅Meet them in dreams and in the moments of silence. Meet them in the middle of their pain and in the questions they cannot escape! ✅Cause divine interruptions! Send sisters and brothers across their path who speak truth with love! ✅Remove influences that keep them bound! Expose what is false and collapse what is built on sand! Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself to them as You truly are—not religion, not control, not condemnation, but —The Way, The Truth and The Life!! 👉🏼Let them feel the weight of eternity—not terror, but urgency. Let them hunger for truth and become restless in sin and unable to find peace apart from You! 📖Your Word is clear: Eternity is real, hell is real! Salvation is NOW!!! FATHER, SAVE THEM, BEFORE THE TRIBULATION BEGINS!!! 🔥Pull them back from the edge! Rescue them from a destiny they were never created for! Let this be the moment where fear gives way to repentance, and repentance gives way to salvation!! 👉🏼We declare that today is the day of salvation! 👉🏼We declare that mercy still stands! 👉🏼We declare that the cross is ENOUGH! 👉🏼We stand on Your promises! That You draw all people to Yourself, that Your arm is not too short to save, and that You leave the ninety-nine to go after the one!! Even when we do not see it, even when nothing seems to change, we trust that You are working behind the scenes! 🤲🏼We place our loved ones fully into Your hands!! 👆🏼We declare that salvation belongs to You! 👆🏼We declare that chains will break! 👆🏼We declare that prodigals will return! 👆🏼We declare that what the enemy meant for evil, You will turn for good! 🩸Cover them with the blood of Jesus. Protect them from deception and from taking the MARK OF THE BEAST! Preserve them until the moment You bring them home! 🙏🏼Lord, we pray that if they are not saved before You come, then during the Tribulation may they see the light of Christ shining brighter than ever before. Draw them to Yourself, seeking refuge in Your grace and finding hope in Your promises. Help them remember the truth they have heard today. Use the testimony of the two witnesses, the 144,000, and the three angels to awaken their hearts and lead them to repentance and faith. Surround them with believers who will encourage them, strengthen them, and point them to Jesus. Let Your Holy Spirit work powerfully in their hearts until they surrender completely to You. 💙 Lord... You also see us!! You see the ones who have been praying for years. The ones who cry for the same people over and over again. The ones who have watched loved ones reject You... again and again. Lord... we're tired. 👉🏼Some of us are running on empty. Some of us wonder if anything we say even matters anymore. Some of us have become discouraged watching this world grow darker by the day. You hear us constantly whisper every day saying, "Lord... I just want to come Home!!!!" Lift us up today, strengthen our weary hearts. Fill us again with Your Holy Spirit. 🛎️Remind us that You are still saving. 🛎️Remind us that You are still pursuing them. 🛎️Remind us that You are still working behind the scenes—even when we can't see it. ❌Don't let us grow cold. ❌Don't let us become distracted. ❌Don't let us lose our urgency. ❌Don't let us stop praying. ❌Don't let us stop sharing the Gospel. 🔥Give us boldness! 🔥Give us endurance! 🔥Give us fresh fire for these last moments before You come! Lord... if there's one more person You want us to reach... give us the strength to stand in the gap one more time... 🙌🏼We thank You in advance for what You are already doing—even now. To You alone belong all the glory, all the honor, all the praise, and all the power, forever and ever! ....and Lord, PLEASE COME!!!! We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen. MARANATHA! COME, LORD JESUS, COME!!!🤍

Hey Punks! Exactly 8 years ago (to the minute) I claimed my first punk. In the years since we've seen a ton of incredible ways the community has shown up for the project and created public goods for the ecosystem and here's yet one more for y'all to nerd out on. Excited to share a fun little tool for y'all I've been working on with Generative Goods and embroidery wizard (DCA) Daniel Calderon Arenas. Put your punkID in the box and get professional quality DST (embroidery) files of your punk in a variety of sizes. I see people wearing their punks all the time and after spending the last few years deeply studying machine embroidery understand how annoying and complex it can be to get a good digitized version of your punk. A good digitization can cost $100 and that's for a single sized output. The punk embroidery generator will give you a range of sizes in stitch-perfect outputs for any of the 10k punks plus for the DIY folks a cross-stitch pattern for you to make your own by hand (s/o to Fanny Lakoubay and Rachel Suzanne Tien Wood who completed theirs of STONE's #98 recently 🙌). We've put some instructions on the site to help you through the process, plus some embroidery machine recommendations in case you want to go all out and make them look at feel professional. Note: GenGoods is not set up to do the embroidery for these (our system uses the same 15 colors across all our projects and Punks use way more colors across all the various outputs) but the downloads on the site give you exactly what you need to walk into any embroidery shop and have them make your punk for you. We suggest thread colors in the tool but that's just to get you started. A good embroidery shop will have tons to pick from so just pick the colors that best match your punk. Anyways we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the punks 8th anniversary with this fun little tool. Can't wait to see what y'all make with this. Enjoy! 🍻

The Sabotaging Practice of Over Supply and Sameness in the NFT Space. The current zeitgeist of the NFT space is that the same artists are doing the same kind of work five times a year, with project after project leaving a trail of disappointment and discontent among collectors and all of us watching in disbelief as huge resources are extracted from the space over work that feels like it could be left as an "artist study." I understand that you can do what you want with your money as collectors, but we are killing the whole space with this incestuous practice. No artist is that prolific to be able to do 5 collections of 100+ pieces each every year and actually deliver innovation and some kind of creative evolution. Of course, they can pretend play that the work has something new, but there is no precedent nor proof that that has ever happened in the speed that it happens in the NFT space. Again, people are free to through away their resources on whatever they want but with this way of doing things, we more and more are going to start seeing the consequences. Oh! There are consequences? Yes. Maybe unintended, but there are. Let's see. Let's start with the loss of belief in the NFT space as somewhere where emerging artists can come and find support for their experiments. Why even bother to bring experiments, innovation, and new ways to think of art on the blockchain if the same people have all the collectors hypnotized with their magical flutes? Why even try to come to a space where taking risks and challenging the status quo (the mission of art!!!) is overlooked? This makes the NFT space a social club and not a space for art. I guess it is fine, but IMO it is a recipe for disaster. New collectors stay away because the art will slowly but surely become stale and un-challenging. Why even bother to come and see what is happening here if you can't, as a collector, see new weird and up-and-coming artists? The amount of noise emitted by the same artists doing the same art over and over, drowns out any new voices. Again. A recipe for disaster. The NFT space is becoming a space of disappointment and doubt. We think that collections going to zero one after the other, over and over, is not damaging? I feel we are kidding ourselves. Disappointment piles up, and again, the people who will hurt are the emerging artists, the new blood, the ones who are willing to risk the most and, in return, put fire in this cold space of sameness. I love this space—don't get me wrong—it has changed my life, and I believe it has a ton of potential, but things need to change for it to become a beacon of light in art. But we need to support new voices. We need to support new ideas. The challenge is huge. I hope to contribute all I can to this change. I hope more and more see how exciting it is to go out and try to discover what else is out there and move this space forward. But again, I understand the leaps of faith needed, but if there is a space that is based on that, it's the NFT space...so there is hope. We will see. 📺by Boldtron

Some people contribute to the Bored Ape Yacht Club 🍌 in one lane. Apewhale 🍌 contributes in many. Whether it's building tools, supporting community initiatives, helping new members find their footing, or creating products that celebrate Ape culture, he's constantly showing up and making the ecosystem better for everyone around him. Many Apes know him as the force behind Boring Merch 🍌, one of the premier merchandise manufacturers in the ecosystem. Through Boring Merch, he's helped bring countless ideas to life and has collaborated with numerous brands and communities throughout BAYC and beyond. From custom swag to official BAYC inventory, ApeWhale has helped turn digital communities into something tangible that people can wear, collect, and proudly represent. But he didn't stop there. He's currently working on an card set featuring the IP of Apes throughout the community. It's the kind of project that captures the creativity and culture that make this the best club on the internet, and we can't wait to see it come to life. When it comes to protecting the community, ApeWhale stepped up once again by creating Alert Apes 🍌. The initiative helps identify bad actors and provides a database where members can research suspicious accounts and review evidence tied to reported behavior. In a space where trust matters, he's built tools that help keep fellow Apes informed and safer. His impact on Welcome Apes cannot be overstated either. ApeWhale has been with us since day one as a committee member. Long before the website existed, he secured the domain because he believed in what we were building. Over the years, he's consistently volunteered his time, ideas, and support whenever needed. The funny thing is, none of these accomplishments fully capture who ApeWhale is. He's the guy helping someone get set up in Othersidemeta. He's the guy making sure a new member has their BAYC profile properly configured. He's the guy answering questions, making introductions, connecting people, and helping others succeed without asking for anything in return. And if you've spent enough time around him, you've probably also been reminded that aquamarine is objectively superior to orange. At the end of the day, ApeWhale represents something bigger than any single project. He embodies the spirit of picking up a shovel and contributing. He reminds us that the strength of this club has never come from the artwork alone. It comes from people who invest their time, energy, and talents into helping others. He's a builder. He's a supporter. He's a protector. He's the kind of Ape that makes this club better simply by being part of it. Congratulations to ApeWhale, our June: Ape of the Month.
