12/25/25 9:35am Update: Good morning and Merry Christmas! It's a snowy one for us. We received 23.6" (60 cm) of #snow in the last day, which brings our 2-day total to 24.8" (63 cm). We're expecting another 2-3 feet, mostly today but a little tomorrow as well. #CAwx #weather

2/13/25 8:45am Update: We have 11.8" (30 cm) of new #snow this morning with moderate to high snowfall rates currently. We expect a lull in rates over the next couple of hours but it should pick up again around noon. Another 2-3 feet of snow is expected by tomorrow at the lab.

It’s a wet, snowy morning at the airport as the first of today’s 111,895 travellers make their way through the terminals, with 878 flights scheduled. The forecast is calling for 8–10 cm of snow. Our crews have been out all night clearing snow from the runways, taxiways and aprons, and they’ll be working throughout the day to stay ahead of the snowfall. A traffic management initiative is in place to help regulate the flow of departing aircraft. This may affect some flights as we prioritize safe, steady movement across the airfield.

1/18/25 4am: light snow is currently occurring at our office here in West Mobile! We are also receiving reports in Baldwin county and over interior parts of the western FL Panhandle. No accumulation is occurring at this time, but we will keep a close eye over the next few hours.

3/2/24 8:45am Update: We received 20.7" (52.5 cm) of #snow in the last day, which brings our storm total to 39.8" (101 cm) so far. Several more feet are expected by Monday morning. We lost power overnight but were able to keep all systems online. It's back on for now.

Our model continues to be aggressive an wet with the Arthur remnants Thursday night / Friday morning. I still think it's a bit much, but the longer it stays like this the more believable it gets. Main timing we're watching is Thursday night / Friday morning.

Tonight a plow came and removed all the snow that another plow had pushed onto the sidewalk days ago making it too narrow for wheelchairs or strollers. It looks like they moved it all to the centre of the road. Not sure why they didn't put it there in the first place to save time and money. But it means for tomorrow for the 1st time in 12 days we can go to places like the pharmacy or the butcher! If it doesn't snow too much tonight, that is. Im not sure if all the barking helped but it definitely raises awareness. Perhaps the City of Edmonton can explain why they didn't just put it in the middle of the road in the first place? #WeWon Video description for inclusivity: Chesnyy wearing a safety vest watching a snow plow late at night

❄️ One thing that’s NOT being talked about enough: Snow Ratios with this Storm could be WAY higher than 10:1, meaning there's a chance our Storm OVERPERFORMS A normal storm is around 10:1 (10 inches of snow from 1 inch of liquid). But when Arctic air is in place, snowflakes grow lighter, fluffier, and more efficient, and ratios SKYROCKET. Our Storm has: ✅ Arctic air firmly in place ✅ Ideal snow forming temps aloft (-12°F to -24°F) ✅ A very solid upper-level temperature profile ➡️ That supports 12:1 or even 15:1 snow ratios in spots. Every inch of liquid turns into WAY more snow. ⬇️ Bottom line: This is the kind of setup where storms *could OVERPERFORM. I would not be surprised if some areas push close to 1.5 FEET of Snow where ratios are highest. Now, I do think the Kuchera Snow Ratios are overdone, but they are likely closer than the simple 10:1 Snow ratios being show everywhere. Going to be VERY interesting to watch, my Snow-loving brotheren 👀❄️

That’s the difference of a little to 3”, or the 8-9” advertised by the UK model Short range hi res models still 2 days out til we see that, but wording has dropped into the official long range NWS forecast for this chance of snow for the 2nd half of the weekend All of this of course follows our deepest freeze in 7 years that kicks in about midnight Thursday and will get some -30° and dare I say -40° wind chills by sunrise Friday. Talk about model agreement? 14 models all go at least -20°
