The Indian reservation system is a caste-obsessed, merit-killing scam that has outlived any excuse. It started as temporary social justice. Decades later it’s a permanent vote bank machine that screws over talent, rewards mediocrity, and keeps the country divided by last names instead of ability. Enough of this bullshit. You score higher, work harder, clear the exam clean — then watch some guy with lower marks walk into the same college or government job because his caste certificate says so. That’s not justice. That’s official discrimination dressed up as “upliftment.” General category kids get told to “compete harder” while the system hands out seats like party favors. Fuck that. Merit dies here. When seats and posts are filled by quota instead of competence, quality drops. Hospitals, engineering colleges, civil services — lower cut-offs mean more people who couldn’t cut it on equal terms. Patients, projects, and taxpayers pay the price. Pretending otherwise is pure cope. It locks caste in place forever. Instead of killing the old hierarchy, reservation turns it into a lifelong identity racket. People game certificates, claim “backward” status when it’s convenient, and the creamy layer — the rich, connected ones inside reserved categories — hoover up the benefits while the genuinely poor stay poor. Economic need gets ignored; surname wins. Brilliant. Generations later and still no sunset clause. The original idea was temporary. Now every election someone expands the pie — more categories, higher percentages — because saying “enough” loses votes. Result? A society that measures fairness by how many groups get special treatment instead of equal rules. Want real uplift? Kill the caste quota and replace it with means-tested help based on income and actual disadvantage. Give poor kids of any background a fair shot through better schools, scholarships, and competition. Stop treating entire communities as permanent victims or permanent villains. Reservation doesn’t end inequality. It institutionalizes it, breeds resentment, and tells the country that birth still matters more than brains or effort. Time to scrap this outdated, divisive, anti-merit nonsense and let people rise or fall on what they actually do.
