Until the WS run, this was the definitive greatest moment in Nats history. I still tear up watching it.

Why do we as a fanbase praise this moment as one of the greatest moments in franchise history? Because all it does to me is bring back the memory of the biggest choke job the VERY NEXT game to lose the series. A "what could have been" moment.

Because it was still an incredible moment. It was the first playoff run in Nats history and although the next night was heartbreaking, this moment was still great. But I get what you’re saying as well, definitely a bit of a “what could have been” moment
