Trying to fix the FPS issues today If I'm on MacBook Pro M3 with battery >20% or power connected I get 120 FPS The moment I go below <20% battery, M3 goes in power save mode I think so FPS drops to 30 FPS 30 FPS is fine but it also decreases the entire game speed by 30/120 (so 4x) Same on iPhone, I get 30 FPS, but the game gets too slow My Cursor written animate() function is, which runs on requestAnimationFrame, but I guess that deltaTime code needs some fixes to disconnect it from the FPS, I already tried but didn't work Ideally 120 FPS or 30 FPS or 10 FPS all runs at same speed even if lower or higher frame rate function animate() { requestAnimationFrame(animate); // Calculate delta time in seconds, but use fixed timestep for physics const currentTime = const rawDeltaTime = (currentTime - lastFrameTime) / 1000; deltaTime = 1/60; // Force fixed 60 FPS timestep for all physics lastFrameTime = currentTime;

I tried Motorstorm on RPCS3 and can confirm it is playable. However, terrain deformation is extremely taxing on the GPU so I can't have 60 FPS at 1440p on my RTX 3070. You will have to either drop the resolution or lock the framerate to its original 30 FPS cap.

Optimisation is crazy where winds meet. It’s achieving 50-55 fps on 8k Max Settings while Borderlands 4 runs at 20 fps on a 5090 at 1400p. Lmao… I’m not exaggerating; I’m genuinely shocked that we’ve got so many unoptimised games this year…. #WhereWindsMeet

In my previous post about the #Nioh3 demo, I mentioned that when the game isn’t consistently holding 60 FPS or 120 FPS, several issues can show up. Here’s a clearer breakdown of what's going on. The main reason is that the game speed and physics are tied to the frame rate. When you enable the 120 FPS cap, the engine start overreacting and pushes CPU usage very high, even if the game is still running at around 60 FPS (as shown in the first example). In the second clip, you can see the uneven, jittery camera movement I mentioned before. Notice how much smoother 60 FPS and 120 FPS look compared to the unlocked side. Also, camera movement at 60 FPS is slightly faster than at 120 FPS. In the third clip, player movement is slower when the frame rate is unlocked. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it shows up often enough to be noticeable. Because of how the Katana Engine behaves, the game is clearly designed around 60 FPS. Running at 120 FPS is possible, but it’s only recommended if your system can maintain that target almost all the time, which isn’t easy to achieve. There’s also an alternative workaround where you select the 60 (locked) option and enable Frame Generation (DLSS or FSR 3), as shown in the last clip. The downside is that DLSS Frame Generation tends to show the same stuttery look as when the frame rate isn’t holding a fixed target, likely due to Reflex keeping the frame rate slightly below target. FSR Frame Generation, on the other hand, looks much smoother and works better here.

It's not exactly ont to one, but close enough, I think! The jiggle stuff looks pretty much the same at 30fps of 144fps, and beyond! Added 30fps, 60fps, vSync, vSync(every 2nd vblank), and Uncapped fps. Now that vSync is possible, screen tearing should no longer be an issue!

Dr grande has a better diddy joke than any comedian who has ever performed at the comedy mothership.
