“After World War II, the Soviet Union imprisoned and killed millions of Germans in the Gulag system. Estimates vary, but it's believed that between 1945 and 1956, at least 2 million German civilians and soldiers were sent to Soviet labor camps.” “When factoring in the deaths during transport-often in overcrowded, unsanitary cattle cars-the total number of German fatalities skyrockets. Conservative estimates place the mortality rate during these forced marches at around 10-15%, but some sources suggest it could have been as high as 30%. If we add those who perished en route to the camps, the overall German death toll in Soviet custody jumps to approximately 1.7 million to 2.5 million.” “This accounts for both those who died in transit due to exposure, starvation, and disease, as well as the roughly 1.2 million who succumbed to the gulags' brutal conditions post-arrival.”

Only three people in the entire history of the Soviet Union were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union three times, and one of them was Comrade Ivan Kozhedub, a Ukrainian from Sumy Oblast. He is considered the World War II Allied " Ace of Aces, " flying 330 combat missions, engaging in 120 dogfights, and downing 62 enemy aircraft more than any other Allied pilot of the war on either the Western or Eastern Front. He famously shot down a Me 262 jet while flying his propeller-driven La-7. 🫡

• The “Parade of the Vanquished” that is also known as “The Defeat Parade” was a cruel march of German prisoners of war on July 17 1944 in Moscow. The parade was a result of the ongoing Operation Bagration on the Eastern Front, during World War II. • Approximately 57,000 captured troops were chosen, organized and paraded through Moscow. These men were among the most healthy to make the march as close to half of the total losses for Germany during the operation came from 160,000 troops dying on the march to Soviet prison camps. The parade was heartlessly used by Soviet leader Joseph Stalin to demonstrate the success of the operation • Out of the 100,000 German prisoners taken at Stalingrad, half had died on the march to Siberian prison camps, and nearly as many died in captivity; only about 6,000 survived and returned home. • The real tragedy of WWII was the treatment of Germans, both citizens and military personnel. World War II began on September 1, 1939, when Nazi Germany invaded Poland. But the road to war had already been paved by a deal between Hitler and Stalin. The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact divided Eastern Europe into Nazi Germany’s and the Soviet Union’s spheres of influence – and cleared the way for both regimes to act. Days later, Poland was attacked from the west and, on September 17, from the east by the Soviet Union. On the anniversary of the start of World War II, remember the full story – including the Hitler–Stalin conspiracy that made the war possible.

They don’t teach this in school, and the more you look into what happened right after World War II, the more one story stands out for how completely it’s been buried. “Two days after the war officially ended, 42 defenseless men, women, and children were lined up and shot. Their only ‘crime’? Speaking German. “This rare home movie captured the moment. It’s part of a largely forgotten chapter; the brutal fate of millions of ethnic Germans in the so-called peace that followed. A peace that turned chaotic, vengeful, and soaked in blood.” We’ve all been fed a very one-sided version of history.

The Wall That Fell and the Nation That Rose. World War Two, the winning powers split Germany in half. 🇩🇪 The West became a democracy allied with America. The East became a Communist state controlled by the Soviet Union. The Cold War's most famous wall didn't fall because of a war, a revolution, or a plan. It fell because of one man's mistake at a press conference. 😯 By 1961, over three million East Germans had fled to the West for a better life. East Germany sealed the border... Country split apart by war spent decades and trillions rebuilding itself, and it paid off. Germany is now the largest economy in Europe. What do you think mattered most in that comeback? The investment, the shared culture, or just sheer persistence? 🤔

A Russian historian says that during World War II the Germans fought much better than the Russians in all directions, but the Russians managed to achieve victory only at the cost of enormous bloodshed. A journalist tries to object that great wars cannot be won by meat and blood alone, but the historian insists that Russia had nothing else. He says that Russia shot one million soldiers at the front, surrendered three million soldiers into captivity, had 1–2 million political prisoners in prisons and just as many guards for them, and carried out mass executions during collectivization (the forced confiscation of peasants’ land and its transfer to the state). It is no wonder that documents of Soviet history are still classified in Russia. The world would be horrified to see the truth.

“We gave up our yesterdays for your tomorrows.” 98-year-old World War II veteran David Yoho delivered an emotional message at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. as Americans gathered to honor the more than 400,000 U.S. service members who died during the war. Standing before the crowd in the rain, Yoho urged younger generations to remember the sacrifices made by veterans and to keep telling their stories long after they’re gone. “Tell them it was a 16-year-old boy in the hearts and mind and body of a 98-year-old veteran of World War II.”

American pilots see a German jet for the first time in 1944. In summer 1944, Germany debuted one of the many advanced weapons they devised during World War II: the Messerschmitt Me 262. The Me 262 was the first operational fighter jet in history, and while it outmatched Allied aircraft, it couldn't turn the tide of the war.

They Fought For France In World War II, Then France Murdered Them The World Anti-Fascist War – more commonly and misleadingly known as “World War II” – saw more than 1 million Africans fighting and dying for the West, fighting and dying for the parasitic entity that took everything away from them, in a war they neither started nor asked for. In this report for The Spearhead, U.O sheds light on one of the most chilling chapters in this saga, when France repaid hundreds of African men who had served in its ranks, by murdering them all.
