13 years later and this is still the most accurate documentary ever made about iOS vs. Android

I would appreciate a documentary on WP and how they managed to fumble it. I loved mine.

I've always thought about writing a book about it, because I was so in the weeds on a lot of the inside stuff around it. But I don't know if anyone would actually wanna read a book about it ha

It was definitely more exciting having four distinct ecosystems to choose from (iOS, Android, Nokia/Windows, Blackberry) instead of the dull incestuous iOS-Android duopoly.

Lumia and windows did make a great phone. Sadly the app ecosystem wrecked it.

Till date, the Lumia 925 is the best phone I've owned

It's wild how much the core user experience gap narrowed after the Android 4.4 KitKat redesign shifted the platform's trajectory.

I did have a Lumia, just holding it in your hand was an experience, it felt great.

See I use Android (hate Apple) but, I still use a Windows Phone loader on my device, I get live tiles, I get the nice start menu, I can click a letter and jump right to it. Something Apple and Android wish they could do... next phone I will do the same. I do miss WIndows Phone

I thought all MS needed back then was to ask developers create those apps in WP without any fees whatsoever for a few years to gain real traction

The windows phone was good and the Nokia was excellent. Too bad MS didn’t understand that they needed apps to bring over people

Windows phone was way ahead of its time. Hands down the best mobile experience. Sadly, didn’t have the brand recognition as Apple and Google.

That was an awesome phone. I had one!

I remember making a decision not to make a windows phone version of a rather large user base app (12 million users) cos there were less than a rounding figure of Windows phone users to port to. Best decision I ever made.

SIGHHHHHHHHHHH such a beautiful app OS. I feel there is a world where you could build an OS like that but intentionally meant to have as few apps as possible.

I miss Nokia Windows Phones. I loved my bright yellow 1020.

I miss using my Nokia Lumia 800 with WP 7.5

Microsoft killed Lumia. At one time almost 40% of the people in my circle used a Lumia.

To this day that phone still receives my email

I loved my windows phone, HTC 7 or something like that. Can only hope they re-enter the mobile phone space.

I loved my Nokia Lumia 920. It was an awesome device.

In the AI era, Microsoft missed out Windows Phone. Now AI solved so many solutions to required apps like editing photos, creating video content etc.

oh, it was a Microsoft clip! well, who laughs last, laughs best. I got the Lumia 820 & 920, then what? Microsoft abandoned us while Samsung and Apple are still thriving. it felt like a betrayal. Now I am pro-galaxy. Hopefully, I won't need to make another switch any time soon!
