The Great Alaska Shootout was the gold standard for in season tourneys for several years. I got to play in a tourney there in 96 the week before the big boys played. Great trip to Alaska.

And that was Duke’s only loss until the National Championship. The best team to not win it.

Legendary game! Remember this vividly…..The only game Duke lost until the Final. That Cincinnati team went on to dominate the following season until Martin broke his leg

I remember this late night Saturday game like it was yesterday lol. Man Cincinnati had dogs straight bullies.

Man the good old days. ESPN showing sports. The Great Alaskan Shootout. And 14th ranked Cinci getting 5% of the highlights beating number 1 Duke is still the same on ESPN.
