Just finished watching #DC movie. Best Tamil film of 2026. No debate. 10/10. The real hero is Anirudh Ravichander When A.R.Rahman told him to go deeper into classical, the man actually listened, and what he has cooked for DC is magnificent. Not one scene sounds like anything he has done before. Arun Matheswaran plus Lokesh Kanagaraj plus Anirudh. Three talented artists in one room and the output is a monster. Racy from the first frame to the last. And when the reason behind all that action has a real emotional core, it hits exactly where it should. Theatre was erupting for most of the scenes. Any film planning to release next week, postpone it. Seriously. This one is going to break multiple box office records. If you are wondering what to do this weekend, book DC. #JanaNayagan is a literal remake that could've been far better and not the deserving Farewell for the Tamil Cinema's Box Office Samrat! Thalapathy Vijay, who is now the CM of Tamil Nadu, was one of the biggest commercial stars Tamil cinema has ever witnessed after Superstar Rajinikanth, and the kind of farewell film he deserved should have hit much harder. Despite being around a 60% remake of Bhagavanth Kesari, the team has added political and sci-fi elements to differentiate both films. The political portions were decent, but the sci-fi elements in the final act felt completely out of place. The film constantly feels like it is changing its identity—from a father-daughter emotional drama to a political film and finally into a sci-fi action film. CM Vijay as Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, also known as "TVK," shines throughout and carries this mediocre film from H. Vinoth almost entirely on his shoulders. It was so good to see him back in action, especially during the interval and post-interval fight sequences. Thalapathy Kacheri was an absolute blast and a perfect celebration for his last dance on the big screen. Mamitha Baiju shines alongside Vijay as his daughter and delivers a memorable performance, especially in the climax. Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Narain, and others didn't have much scope and felt like typical template characters. Bobby Deol, as the main antagonist, also suffers from the same issue. Musically, Anirudh delivered some banger songs, but the background score felt repetitive, especially with the reuse of themes like "Raavana Mavada" and "Oru Pere Varalaaru” but still elevates TVK’s screen presence whenever he gives entry. If this film was handled by someone like Lokesh or Atlee, who truly understand Vijay's legacy and stardom, it could've been the perfect farewell for the CM that he deserved. Criticism aside, this is the last time we are going to see our favourite entertainer VIJAY on the big screen. So let's celebrate him for one last time in cinemas. ❤️

One day during the festival, Iñárritu and many other directors were invited for a 7 PM screening of Wong Kar-wai's "In the Mood for Love" (2000). Iñárritu and his wife Maria booked a taxi at 6:15 PM. But the taxis were overbooked. So Iñárritu, wearing a tuxedo & his wife, wearing a long dress with high heels had no other choice but to run to reach the theater on time, while the temperature was 95°F. The traffic was heavy. While running, Iñárritu took off his jacket, tie & the first 3 buttons of his shirt. His wife took off her shoes. Their effort wasn't in vain as they reached the theater at 7:01 PM. They were drenched in sweat. But they both had experience of their lives when they watched the movie. 🚨 The CCP’s “Unrestricted War” — Now a Movie 🚨 🔝 Maybe we’ve all heard about the CCP’s “Unrestricted War.” But have you ever watched a movie with exactly that title? 🎦 In the newly released political thriller The Unrestricted War, my followers may notice many familiar scenes and stories: the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China; Dr. Li Wenliang, who was arrested for posting a warning about the deadly virus in a private chat group; Falun Gong practitioner Fang Bin, who filmed the now-famous “eight bodies in five minutes” video (you can watch it below, under the trailer of this movie); and PLA general and virologist Chen Wei, who took control of the P4 lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology as soon as the virus began to spread—and managed to produce a vaccine as early as February 26, 2020. 😉 You might even catch glimpses of what I did during the early outbreak of COVID. Yet, until now, no filmmaker has dared to tackle this politically sensitive and perhaps politically incorrect topic. 😿That’s why Yan Ma, the Canadian director of this film, faced personal harassment from the CCP. Some of his family members in China lost their income, and just three days before filming began, one of the lead actors dropped out after receiving threats from the CCP’s United Front operations in Canada. 😠It didn’t stop there. When the film was first set to premiere in Canada, the event was abruptly cancelled just one day before, due to interference from the Chinese government. 😧The irony is striking: the Canadian filmmaker himself experienced the CCP’s “Unrestricted War” firsthand, simply for making a movie called Unrestricted War. 🚨As a result, Yan Ma decided not to release the film in U.S. theaters.
