15 strikeouts, maybe 2 were in the zone

Worst umpired game I remember. I can think of a few worse individual calls (85 World Series game 6), but never so many bad calls in one game by one man.

I will never forgive Eric Gregg for this. Absolutely shameful. If Fred McGriff is arguing with you, you are wrong.

Eric Gregg was by most accounts a sweet man. But he was a terrible umpire. As bad as he was behind the plate, he may have been worse in the field. When his weight really got out of hand, he was always out of position to make calls, so everything was essentially a guess.

Angel Hernandez would be proud

And I thought Angel Hernandez was bad. This is horrifying.

Hard to feel bad for the Braves. Their pitchers got that outside strike all decade. That said: this was egregious, but it was consistent, and the Braves hitters needed to adjust. They didn't.

This is astonishing.
