Respectfully, LRA or locked rotor amperage rarely happens in modern air conditioners. An inverter-based air conditioner does not usually apply full line voltage directly to a stationary compressor motor. Its drive typically: •Starts at a low frequency and voltage •Ramps speed up gradually •Limits motor current electronically •Uses a variable-speed compressor, often a BLDCor permanent-magnet motor rather than aconventional single-phase induction motor Therefore, it normally avoids the very high locked-rotor current (LRA) associated with a direct-on-line, switched induction compressor. The compressor’s starting current is usually lower and more controlled.
